Question on the e6!!

Someone is trying to sell me a haltech. He says that "It is a haltech e6 w/ all sensors, e-shaft sensor, msd dis-2 and digital-6 (installed on car, will me removed, but no miles). The coils and e shaft sensor are factory and its also used. its configured to work with the e6. however the rest of the stuff is slightly used!"

He is not familiar with the ECU at all... So he doesn't know what it is, just that it is an "e6". My problem is that there are a few different models like "e6k (the one I want), e6m, e6h, and the e6gm."

Can you please help me out?
- Can the e6m, e6h, or e6gm be installed on a rx7?
- What price do you recommend I pay for the item?
- What are essentials components I should ask for?
- Are there different versions of the E6K? If so can any E6K be upgraded to the latest version?
- Are there any other reccommendations you guys can give?

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't pay more than $500 for a used E6 - we had too many problems trying to get it to run nicely on a 13B-REW.&nbsp You'll need to get a pair of MSD 8509's, which are a pain to interface and install - that's another $100+ just to use on an RX-7.

The E6GM is a special GM (i.e. Chevy) box - it's going to be a pain to run on a rotary.&nbsp The other boxes are specially design for specific applications, and I dunno if they can run the RX-7 ignition trigger correctly.

Some of the Aussie dealers are having a price war - add the favorable exchange rate to US $, and you get a prices around $1,000 for a fully loaded E6K.

The Haltech system should include:
*E6K ECU
*harness (flying lead or terminated)
*program disk
*manual
*air temp sensor
*water temp sensor
*TPS
*two relays (if flying lead harness)
*fuse block (if flying lead harness)
*connector kit (if flying lead harness)
*MAP sensor (1, 2, or 3 bar) is optional, but you still need one

with the E6 or E6A I would recommend using the S1 or S2 switch and fabricating a chopper wheel as the 8509's don't work very well and are a pain to wire and fail at bad times. with the extra work involved I would not even pay $500 for an E6 maybe for a E6A.
