Question No spark - Previous Haltech Owners Please Read

Well, my cars been down for a bit now, took it to the rx-7 store and they still haven't looked at it. Main reason it was there was because my friend was working on it, but he's not going to have time to for a while and i'd like to get it going before july. So, im going to have the car taken back home. That being said, this is the problem.

The whole reason I took it up there was because the car is having a no-spark issue. I can't get ANY spark period. Nothing is sparking anywhere, and I am not sure where to look. Problem is, the car had Haltech in it before. Mix that with the fact was also an automatic changed to five speed and you put a lot of problems all in one boat. Does anyone here happen to know what things I would check for from the haltech that would or could possibly cause my no sparking issue? I'd appreciate it greatly as im at my wits end and if i can't get the car to work soon, im just going to sell what i've got and pick something else up. I didn't buy the car knowing it was an auto prior which screwed me over big time, so my frustration with the car is at an alltime high and I haven't even got it to start yet. Anyways, if someone, anyone, could point me in the right direction as to where to check/what lines on the ecu wiring harness i should look at I would be greatly appreciative.

T.c.

Easy test to see if it's input or output...
Crank the engine - does the Haltech show RPM's???
If it does, the ignition input is fine - the output side is bad.

If the output is bad and *all* the coils are not firing, check the ignitor (FD).
Also, check the +12VDC switched going into the coils - FC and FD.

Check the engine ground - the engine needs to be grounded for the spark plugs to fire.
Quick test - pull the spark plugs and contact it to a known good ground point - I like to use the front upper strut studs for a convenient location.
Does it spark now?
If it does, the engine ground is bad.

I think he means that there WAS a haltech installed.

not sure though wasn't very clear.

If that's the case the plugs were most likey cut on the igniters so you would have to resoldier them.

If you are try'n to use a haltech then follow above method.

nope, back to stock ecu as the haltech wasn't in my car any longer :/ though I do have a power fc coming sometime next week so that'll be nice, but for the mean time id like to at least diagnose my nospark issue.

So to sum it up no, I don't have a haltech and Yes, it is a stock ecu.

p.s. thanks for the replys so fast no one replied in the regular 3rd gen section

Doh!
Not enough sleep!

Can you confirm the fuel injectors are firing during cranking?
Either that or do an ECU test by trigger the error code scan.
I think the CHECK ENGINE light should light up for 3 seconds initially.

No power to the ecu. Confirmed this yesterday. Thus why no CEL's also. No injector signals and obviously, no fuel either unless I run a direct line to the fuel pump.

For a haltech install on the FD, Do you need to cut a lot of the stock ecu wiring harness stuff? This jackass cut his wires so damn short that it's nigh impossible to repair the wires but i have them together for the mean time.

Im needing to figure out where my power is at so any advice would be helpful.

If he was running a haltech there will be two plugs that you dont' have that connect to the ecu.

If you have a stock wiring harness that will make things much easier.

DId he leave the stock wiring harness or replace it all with the haltech loom?
