New Haltech Dash

Hey guys just received one of the IQ3 Display Dashes from Haltech and I thought I would give everyone a picture. Hopefully we'll have it up and running soon for a video. These dashes start at a much lower price than the Haltech/AIM series. Currently they are setup to capture the following channels from an E8 or E11V2.

EFI Engine RPM
EFI TPS
EFI Oil Pressure
EFI H2O Temp
EFI Speed
EFI Gear
EFI MAP Pressure
EFI Intake Temperature
EFI Fuel Pressure
EFI Air/Fuel 1
EFI Injector Duty Cycle
Timing Ignition 1
EFI Voltage

More info can be found below.

Noob question, but how is it to hook up? I'd want it as a replacement for the stock S5 dash

It connects through the two CAN lines that are originally part of you serial connector in the wiring harness. Haltech includes pins though to splice directly from your ECU connectors straight to the dash. That way you can still program your ecu separate from the dash.

The Racepak is cheaper for one. It is much thicker and I believe is setup for ease of datalogging verses the AIM. I guess I would say there are features in both that are nice though. I have just gotten around to playing with just a bit to get my initial settings but I love the alarm system on it. You can choose from multiple pieces of information to create alarms. It also allows you to have 4 preset dashes with different warnings sensor for when you would need them. They are changeable via the pushbuttons you setup with the dash.

Could you please post the portion of the manual that shows which wires to splice into on the E8?

The Can lines aren't necessary to communicate between the Haltech and a laptop. Mine are not even part of the serial cable anymore.

Good to know. Thank you!

That's a cool display. I want to see it in action.
