Need to know how to hook up factory tach on 2nd gen w/E6K

just wondering (if it is possible) how to use the factory tach in my '87 t2 with the E6K? what wires need hooked up? has anyone done this?

You shouldnt have to do anything. Did you install one and find yours not working?

Let me guess; you're not using the factory coils/igniters? If you <u>are</u> using the factory units, then make sure you've left the existing wires in tact and only tap into what you need to. If you <u>aren't</u> then the aftermarket igniter should have a tach output.

ok so the tach gets its signal from the ingniter inputs. that would explain why its not working, i cut these to hook up the haltech. so hooking up the factory ingnitor outputs should fix it?

I got the same problem. I need to get a wiring diagram of the driver's side harness. The FSM doesn't have anything.

Follow the instructions on matt the HITman's site, he spoon speeds you showing which wire to use for tach...

Of course I used s4 coil packs on a 1st gen, so maybe Im clueless here, but mine works
