my first e6x issue!

anyone else have the problem of stabbing the cas properly (lines up everytime etc..) yet the timing still being WAY off? (pre-fire!) the settings are 65/11 as needed to be but yet timing is still funky. the only time i can manage to line it up is if i keep randomly stabbing the cas and rotating it.. any suggestions? im thinkin bunk ECU personally

Did you properly incert the CAS? there are a couple of ways of incerting it, which will also affect the tooth offset.

Have a look at this page from the HITman's site, it gives you a good idea. Also, play with both the offset and the trigger angle untill you get it.

Do a search or scroll down a few posts. The X requires a different offset than the earlier E6 varients. So if you're trying to use the Hitman guide you'll be off by quite a but.

Not sure what we ended up with. I've only done one X on a rotary. Do a search. I posed the same question. I had moved the trigger angle to get the timing right but wondered why I had to do it. ReTed was the one that came up with the answer.

I don't think there is such thing as the "proper" setting for the E6X.
Why are you restabbing the CAS?
You should be just changing the offset and angle #'s on the Haltech.

RETed is right, you should incert the CAS the proper way and just play with the offset and trigger angles till you get it. Now that i think about it, this saturday im going to finish up setting up an FC with E6X so now that i know that the values are a little different ill be sure and post the results here.

its either help or im going to blow this ******* thing up and record it. 15k into this god damn car and it wont even start because a) engine isnt right b) ecu isnt right or c) im not right. Doesnt matter waht i set it at, how i stab the CAS nothin. If it does manage to start it has NO power and sounds like ****, weedwhackers have more HP than this thing does. if i change the settings to zerod out i cant get it to start for the life of me. Yes i know its a fresh rebuild but jeezus christ, i can lean it out, richen it up, middle of the road.. NOTHING CHANGES ****. Im so furious, GG im done, ban me. cars goin for sale.

Are you up for working on it tomorrow? If you're up for it I can come out and help you out with it, I'm available from 12pm to 5pm. They can be a real bitch sometimes at this phase, if plugs get wet in a 13B they don't dry off until you pull them and dry them thoroughly. I can bring another timing light just in case.

I'm quite sure we can get it running well, they can be stubborn sometimes just don't blow it up yet

You can't blow the engine up cranking and idling, so don't worry about that.
