LS1 Coils with E8

I have a couple of questions about these coils and would hope that someone could answer them.

1. Does anyone know what settings I need to use for these type of coils on the Haltech E8 and how to wire them up?

2. Are LS2 coils the same as LS1's?

3. How much boost can I run with them. Someone told me that I can only run 12 psi and after that I would need better coils.

4. Is it better to run wastespark or sequential ignition as I got in a little argument with somone about this since he was telling me that having wastespark was better because you get 3 sparks per power stroke(Counting the trailing spark).

Thanks,

Javier

1. Search, this is covered within the first couple pages of posts

2 No, they are different, different settings under the IGN setup page

3. There are cars making well over 400 WHP on these coils

4. Its better to run non waste spark, waste spark doubles the duty cycle of the coil causing it to get much hotter for a given charge time

The extra spark into the exhaust on waste spark does absolutely nothing for power.

These are great coils, do a search, you'll find several post for them, including how to wire them up. Charge time for them is 4.5-5mS.

They are already proven beyond 24psi, so im sure you'll have no problems.

Wire them for Direct Fire. Always a better option. In Wastespark the second spark is wasted...duh...that's where the name comes from. Even though the load on the coil during this event is low it's still time the coil could be using to recharge. This becomes important as revs climb and high charge times are needed to saturate the coil. There's nothing better about wastespark except simplicity.

There is a chart in the Haltech manual that shows how to wire the coils. Which ECU output to which coil. There are pinouts for the coils floating around. Select Direct Fire on the Ignition page and be happy.

When I wire up the coils, which I now find out they are LS2 coils, do I wire up the same as LS1's or what? Do I do the setup as LS1 or do I have to put different settings?
