Lazy *** me got some questions

Hi! I got a S4 cab with an S5 TII engine. Towards the summer, Haltech management isn't impossible for me to afford, as it is required later on for me with beefier turbo, injectors, fuel pump etc.

I saw that Mazdatrix had a Haltech with the harness premade, plug and play, is this anything to go for? I don't have that big a interest in playing with the wiring to the ECU, coils, CAS and all that, I would probably put the CAS wired to the MAF, and the MAF wires to the coils and so on, which would be... exciting?

Anyways, when I get this thing in the car, what must I do after getting a premade map from here? Is there much to do in adjustment before the car is usable as a dd?
I guess a wideband would be nice, and someone that knows Haltech and rotaries so I could get it finely tuned? Or is the base maps on this forum enough to make the car work?

With all stock (I would like a MAP instead of the MAF, but that is no requirement), what could I safely achieve? I would like to see 220-230Hp (dunno if these are @ flywheel or whatnot, but the standard Mazda numbers are 200/202hp, so that is what I go after).

What could I see in kilometers per liter? I don't know mpg, and never will understand them, so I use my European terms. Now it uses 0.11L/km on high*er* speed cruising (50mph), which isn't as bad as I thought before getting rotary, but my wallet screams for moar Or less, if you see it from my money or my engine's side :P

EDIT: Checked a bit, 0.11/km, that is 11/100km, is the same as 21.38mpg. I can also note that this is on partly dry roads, party wet, and partly snow/ice, so I would say 0.1 blank/km at the best (which is 23.52mpg)

Thanks, Jim

So, bump?

Haltech has 2 harnesses a generic terminated harness for the 13b and the patch harness (uses the stock harness in the car). I don't suggested the patch harness based on how old the stock harnesses are. The generic 13b harness will still require some work if you plan on using stock coils. I would suggest a flying lead but if you don't believe you can wire it, you would need to have a competent shop do it. As for the maps, every car is different and would suggest tuning rather than trusting any standard map. Finally for gas mileage depending on the tune you should be able to hit low 20 mpg's without too many problems.

Problem is, I live probably 1000 miles from the closest shop who can wire it and tune it with a dyno. I gotta get it running with the best, but simplest (for my sake) way, and I have to map it on the road as well.

What can I expect without going too hard on the boost? Like a refined standard Mazda ECU map? 220 maybe? I know other cars get a lot just with finetuning it, as the original ECU is set for MPG and is often pretty generic compared to a map on a standalone.

I would not suggest touching the car then if you can't get a proper tune.

That being said the closest to a new wiring harness would probably be Ludwig then. He makes some nice Haltech harnesses just not sure if he set them up for the stock ignition.

Again don't expect much from a map sight unseen. It will most likely be pig rich for safety. I would consider any map given here a starting point and not a final tune.
