Kind of a broad question, but looking for your opinion...
Currently my car will not idle when its cold. When the temp gets to the operating range though, it will idle. It also pulls very little vacuum ( Sometimes as low as 10... ). Now Im almost 100% sure that I dont have low compression because of how quickly the engine starts in all conditions, how hard it pulls, and the even pulses coming from the spark plug holes when theyre pulled.
Now Im pretty sure that its just a vacuum leak that Ill fix when installing the haltech ( I plan on pulling everything I dont need, and replacing everything I do... ) but if I somehow dont find the leak, will my car idle without a BAC valve?
Maybe I just dont understand how the BAC works, but part of me thinks it wont idle. Anyone want to tell me Im wrong?

Ted it sounds like he has not installed the haltech yet. an engine can idle without a bac valve. I don't use any of the original smog/emissions equipment and engine idles fine.

I never really bothered with idle control valves on the cars I've messed with so far.  If your coolant temp compensation map is tuned nicely, the car runs very well.  Radically ported rotary engines or wild cam piston engines might require an idle control valve to idle properly...

it basically just opens up to raise the idle when it gets too low. and you dont have any of the accessories to lower the idle (power steering, AC) so you will be fine without it.
