Installing IAC

Im gonna be installing a idle air control valve and when i was looking at the haltech wiring diagram i noticed there was 4 wires for that. I think the idle valve that people use that is on the uim (coolant line running on it) has two wires and haltech doesn't tell you which wires go to what. any ideas?

The 4 IDLE wires on the Haltech harness are specifically for 4 wire stepper motor valves, the OEM BAC valve on rotaries is a 2 wire deal, so you will need a PWM wire set to BAC to control it. No big mystery there. The other wise is power. This has been covered many a time.

Yeah the OEM 2nd gen valve isnt that good, a 3rd gen valve would probably work better, but the best one to use would be the Haltech 4 wire valve. What ECU did you say you had, a K? the K's idle control would work best with the 4 wire haltech valve.

I use the haltech valve and it seems slow to me, especially at the startup. It might just be my settings but everyone says to switch back to the stock bac.

Claudio, have you ever seen a stepper motor that controls a throttle cable?

It may be intended as a cruise control unit.

EDIT: look at this ford stepper motor http://img.okazje.info.pl/934/5292/th100/529277.jpg part number 95BF9F715AC, looks like it might bolt on in place of the stock FD bac.

ohps, link, meant to link to this http://www.compperformancegroupstore...ct_Code=307022

This adapts a GM stepper motor to ford TB, which have a BAC like the rx7, looks like it would bolt onto an FD.
