Idle troubles with an E8

ok,

i have a haltech e8 on a extend ported s5 engine and i cant get it it idle.

at the moment, i have the butterflies opened with the adjust screw to get a 1400rpm idle, and its happy here, doesn't miss or fart. and above there (1400rpm+) its a happy motor.

my problem is i cant get it to get down below 1000rpm. when i close the throttle completely with the adjustment screw, it gets down to 1200rpm and starts to get rough, then dies, with a few bursts of life before it stalls. it also doesn't want to fall below 1200 at all, it tries to maintain the high idle, then spontaneously dies.

also, the tacho in the dash (hooked up to the primary coils) gets erratic dropping down then raising again when i get below 1000. however it looks fine in halwin.

when the engine is cranking, i get a good rpm signal (225rpm) that looks constant on halwin.

if i put my hand over the TB elbow completely it kills the engine as well, and i cant hear any vacuum leaks.

i have 2 stock 550cc primaries to idle with.

can someone give me their values for ms of injection and degrees of igition for their idle area? for a comparison?

ie ms and deg* for 0-1200rpm and -100kpa - -50kpa

thanks. does it sound like a trigger issue and vac leak problem??

Hmmm...I've gotten my 13BT to idle down to 500RPM - 700RPM solidly with a slight fluctuation on my E8.
I need to bump up the idle slightly higher, but I'm amazed on the control.
I only messed with a good, known map for about 15 minutes to adjust it down for my 4 x 720 set-up.

There's gotta be something wrong outside of your Haltech E8 that's going on here...

~3ms or so at 1k rpm and 15" of vacuum. that should get you ballpark enough to play with it.

have you tried adding/removing fuel from the map? timing zero'd, etc...
