How to Make Haltech from piston motor work on S5 T2 13b????

Im in the middle of buying a Haltech and im very excited about its. Its the E6X... Its coming from a piston powered car... If im correct the ECU can be adjusted to work for a Rotary according to the website description...

So my only question is How do I adjust it and what settings do i need to adjust, and to what should they be adjusted to??

The motor is an S5 T2 with a street port and Stock coils and running stock Turbo... The injectors are 550cc Primaries and 850cc Secondaries.

Thank you any help would be appreciated.

The typical engine management system doesn't "care" what kind of engine it is running. There are basic parameters that need to be set for it to work with a particular application, and that even varies from installation to installation. Then it needs to be tuned. Get it wrong, and the least that can happen is poor running. The worst is typically a damaged engine.

My suggestion would be to get yourself some books on engine management and start by learning just how it all works. There are also some books about rotary engine tuning that would be a good idea.

Also, Haltech just released their "latest/greatest" line of engine management, the Elite Series. They have also terminated support for some of their older products. I'm not sure if the E6 that you are getting is one of those. I saw a post where someone was having issues with the older tuning software on newer operating systems.

So get yourself some learning, and research the model of Haltech you have then you'll be in a position to move forward.

The E6X was a universal system. Its only when you're talking about the Sprint RE and Sprint 500 where you have to watch out. The RE cant go on a piston car and the 500 cant go on a rotary.

You should be good with the X. Having said all that, i strongly suggest you look at the Sport 1000, it will be a much better suited system for both piston and rotary, and will have a far greater compliment of features that will work better than the old X.

In the end if you're getting the X at a really good price, it will work and do the job.
