How to determine Period length on PWM BAC Control????

I am using the BAC PWM option to control my Mazda FD ISC (BAC) valve. I happen to have it set at 24ms right now and it works. (It also works at other settings too, 12, 30, probably more)

Question: Is there a proper method of finding the right period for a given sensor. i.e. possibly related to the coil resistance? does it have to do with the spring mass system of the BAC too?

just wondering if there is a "right" way, other than guess and see what works.

sometimes you can look in the books, sometimes you can scope the stock ecu, and sometimes you just have to play with it until it stops making ***** noises....
