hmm? which ecu?
Hi,
I have a full bridged 13b-re, just about done and im trying to resolve which ecu I want to go with. It has been suggested to me that the haltech unit would be the best course of action...the question is which one? The difference in cost between the three units is not really important.
Are they all equally easy to use and install with the rotary engine?
do they all work with the factory crank angle sensor?
What are the significant advantages/disadvantages between the three units?

The E6X is a good unit, especially for the cost. There have been issues with interference on the crank wires but I believe that is pretty much resolved.
For basicly the same money, you can go with the E8. The nice thing about this one is that you can use the sensors that are already on the motor (i.e. no tapping for new sensors, etc). The E8 is also capable of having the Haltech WB plugged into it and it will display your A/F mixture as a ratio (i.e. 13:1, etc) instead of you only seeing a mV reading.
The E11 has a few options beyond the 8 but, in my opinion, is not worth the extra money for a 2 rotor application.
Yes, they will all work with the factory CAS with no problems.

The important part to consider in your decision is what your power goals are, what options you want to control through the ECU, what is your budget and what you hope to accomplish.
E6X is an entry level system, it can control both fuel and ignition, and has a few additional outputs and features to make it a decent start up package.
The E8 will control your rotary in full sequential mode, you would be able to run independant sisngals to each coil and each injector and the software has adjustable load points that you can tailor to your needs for best resolution. It also has a few more outputs and inputs for dataloggin and controlling additional things.
The E11v2 is Haltech's most robust system, with enough inputs and outputs to run a full sequential 6 cylinder and have additional features left over for everything else.
All systems can be addapted to almost all known types of triggers, and of course, the rotary triggers, wether it be the stock CAS or the FD's crank sensors, or the old distributors.
Cost wise, the E6X goes for around 1150 bucks, the E8 for 1450 and the E11 for 1750. The E11 and E8 can be used with any stock/OEM sensor, the E6X has to use its own sensors.

thanks fro the info! so from what i gather the e8 is capable of doing whatever you could need the ecu to do with a 2 rotor, and the e11v2 is basically overkill for my app. thanks!
