Help with EGT Tunning

can anyone suggest what the best egt temp would be to tune for a single turbo 3rd gen. w/

low comp rotors
3mm seal.
street port
720 prim
1600 sec
tso4 turbo
HKS intercooler front mount

right now im running like at 650c to 675c and car is very slugish untill about 5000 rpm then it picks up but i can tell its still rich. Haltech measures about 820 to 875 on the O2 sensor.

thanks in advance
Rob

I've just heard that <900C is safe. I tend to run about 600 at cruise with the probe in the manifold.

RETed tunes by EGT and narrowband, so he may be able to shed some light on the subject.

I wrote a pretty good dissertation on the subject in the 2nd gen section, and the original poster had written in there.

If not, I have added that particular reply into my web page here...

EGT

EGT is affected by AFR, timing, and load... i think

my 7 runs about:

700-800deg C at cruise 14.4-14.8 AFR

800-900deg C under extended boost run 11.0 AFR

i've heard staying shy of 900 C is safe.?

probe is just after turbo

justin

if someone has more/better info, post it

my full race turbo II engine ran about 1600*F at prolonged WOT(regular race speeds generated 1300-1500*F). it won't last 100,000 miles but my lasted 3 years worth of racing. race engines are not built for high mileage.
