I must agree with RETed. sometimes you have to tell customers that this will not work and unless you change your plan I will not do the work. The shop may very well be the best in the business, but these situations can cause people to have there doubts. As I said before sometimes you have to pass on jobs that you know are going to be a problem.

There is no record of mva's history on that site?
Put a link up or stop smoking crack!
Carl,
MVA Motorsports is not and has never been Ap Engineering. Ap Engineering is owned by Wilmer Nieves, In Paterson, Nj. Carl, I dont get involved in these kids games, but you have gone to far. You will be getting a letter from my lawyer for slandering and or any other laws applicable.
Please get your facts straight, and tell the full story in court.
Sincerly,
Marcos

Carl you need to grow up. Why are you so inclined to the idea of "trying" to ruin MVA's reputation on the net when all they tried to do is help you out.
You are such a rat. It's no suprise to me that all the rotary shops in the tri-state area want nothing to do with you.
AP Engineering for your information is not MVA Motorsports and has no ties to it. AP Engineering is a company thats been in business far longer than MVA and still owned by the same person. Get your facts straight.
I guess Marcos beet me to it..........Damn Carl you did it to yourself.

Marcos, Mario, whoever..... Don't turn this into a PFS/Monsen thing here.
I really doubt that legal action is gonna help anything.
Carl dosen't have the best reputation in the rotary community, nobody is gonna take him seriously enough for his comments to hurt your business.
I was a lil skeptical about the '1 month old haltech' thing myself, but I'm not gonna decide not to let MVA work on my car based on that alone.
as I said, up untill now I have heard only good things about MVA, take the high road fellas, and enjoy your success!

Insane Speed,
I fully understand what you're saying but Carl is a person that needs to be taught a lesson. I personally am not involved in the desicion to persue legal action against him but am not against it.
The things he writes in this forum are only half of the remarks he has made without base and needs to take responsibility for them.
Wish you all the best and thanks for your understanding.
BTW:
MVA's new race car is just about finished and rdy for action. You can see the it at:

I'd also like to add that the E6k is being sold not because there is a problem with it, or becuase its ever been tampered with(it has never been opened), or becuase we sold it to Carl fucked up(We didn't sell it to him; he bought it online) but becuase we believe that there is a problem with E6k's and rotaries in general and I personally feel much more comfortable with using the Microtech product line.
A friend of mine once told me this: quote: " You never know your wife sucks in bed until you bang someone else that's better".
What I'm trying to say here is that the Haltech E6K is not a piece of **** ecu but that I like the Microtech better.
Many of the rotary race cars out there are switching to Microtech or running older version Haltech with distributors. Surely I know that race cars and street cars are not the same but what more stress on a motor than doing a 7 second pass and surviving it with a Microtech or blowing it with a E6K.

I went there today because i happened to be near Hackensack picking up a car.
Very nice shop, very clean.
Mario was very friendly and helpful. he spent a lot of time showing me arround and answering microtech questions for me.
they seem very busy, and good at what they do.
did I mention the Truck? GOD DAMN......
Thanx Mario!!

Been to MVA several times and seen alot of their work. They had a few issues with a clutch job on my sister's celica, but no big deal. It was probably the first one they did. Haven't had my rx-7 there though. I know Ryan and he is a really cool guy. I run into him often at a local bar/club. Also taked with Marcos a few times and he seams cool and knowledgeable. I find it hard to believe that a shop that was running so fast in their 3 rotor mx-3 would have trouble wiring up standalone systems or tuning. I can't wait to see the truck run. Also, it is possible for a person to tell a shop that something is in their car and be lying. Who knows if that fuel pump was really upgraded. Can you really blame a shop for taking a customer's word? Maybe one day the truth will come out and all this bullshit and hatred will blow over.
Heh, like i said before....I own the car now and we are in the process of yanking out all of the fuel system. It's all stock except for a fuel rail and 1600cc secondaries.
No need for me to lie about it since I was the one who blew the last motor the same day Carl and I made the deal with the Supra.
That says it all. To believe otherwise is your prerogative. The truth will shine in court............

hmmm who to trust, Wanka using a fake name to say **** or a known and respected garage. Thank god you've sold your car.

Ahhh T88Kid, nothing personal but I hope your ECU choice does not end up costing you anything....but I guess each to their own.
Before I start, please don't turn this into an ECU war. Everyone makes a choice for themselves as to what they want to run but in this post I am simply covering the facts.
There is NO problem... period.... running rotaries with the E6K and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to go back to tuning school. I tune them, and I dont break motors. I have seen more Microtech's than I have had hot breakfasts (min 6 every week for years) and I personally would not run one on my lawnmower if I was given it for free. I am not saying to not run them, I am saying I personally would not. Switching from an E6K to an MT is OK if you love going to something with less than half the load sites, 6 times less injector time resolution, fixed trail timing with engine load, a simple 2D timing map with 2D corrections, and timing scatter to put an epileptic into hospital. I can see why many drag racers use it as it is quick to make changes, but top-end it is not.
Personal preference is fine and I have no problem with it, but please don't go sprouting incorrect facts without the proof to back. It is the very thing that destroys these forums and the reason why no-one should take anything written in here as gospel. Personal abilities of not knowing how to utilise an advanced system to its potential vs being able to use a lower spec system to a high level do not constitute a good or bad ECU. Instead they show a good or bad tuner. I see quite the opposite with many people tricked into buying MT's by workshops that dont have the knowledge to set up a Haltech/Motec/Autronic or anything better, and talked into it simply because the wokshop will say some quick car runs it so it must be good. Those same people later on go looking for a better ECU because their MT is not fine enough with its controls to keep their engine running super-consistently, or when they find they have big trouble trying to get through emissions, or when they cannot run a stack of ancilliaries that need to be run, etc.. etc..
IMHO, an MT , Haltech, Motec, Autronic should all put out very close to the same peak power and make no difference for the drag racer who is only at WOT or idle. It is everywhere else in the throttle and rpm ranges where the differences lay. MT's have their place with the racers who want something simple that takes no brains, but that place is not near the top of the ECU tree. Each application brings about its own choices, but those choices should not be influenced by incorrect information.
To take a step back, the older Haltech E6S did have problems with reading magnetic triggers, especially the Mazda reluctor CAS, but the E6K does not have these problems. Any ignition problems experienced are 99% caused by bad wiring, which will cause problems with any ECU.
Going to court over what was said in an internet forum is not a great idea. Although he may have been a bit slanderous, he still has denial that it was even him as anyone can login to a forum as any name. Knowing how courts work no-one wins in the end and the best thing you can do is simply prove him wrong so no-one will believe what he says. It does not take long for word to spread through the internet these days.

Dude,
You are talking out of your *** here. I haven't turned this into an ECU war. I've only spoken mostly on Carl's misleading and false statements regarding the work he had and didn't have done by the shop.
If anyone has turned this into an ecu war it is clearly you.
But hey like you said: Everyone makes a choice for themselves........
I think this subject is dead now that Carl is gone. Lets leave it that way.
