danz,

Sorry, but I can't make any recommendations. Have you posted in the Canadian section? You'll get better regional suggestions there.

If this is all you have to say about Megasquirt no one can take your comment seriously.

Competition cars not using it!?!? Off the top of my head, there is a Bonneville salt flat studebaker using MS. Make your way over to diyautotune and its forums rather than just stating it is crap because you think competitive teams do no use it and because its cheap it's crappy, jesus christ I can't believe people still think like that.

Another thing a local guy is using it on his serious drag race twin turbo mustang and a whole bunch of other locals as well, but I really don't talk to them just something I hear through my brother.

The amazing thing about megasquirt is the availability of features and the speed that it is being upgraded. It is also the only tuner where the programming code is public, try asking any company to let you see their code? NOT GONNA HAPPEN! You should see the new MS board coming out.

My brother has it on his ca18det 240sx, and it has been running great. He built it all himself and this is his first car. If he can do it anyone can but it's definitely not for the lazy person.

Im not gonna say its better than Haltech or anything, because when it comes down to it, it's whatever the tuner will feel most comfortable with. I am just tired of seeing people bash MS when they haven't a clue about it.

BTW- DANZ if you have ANY questions about it send them my way, and I will relay it to my brother, he gets into MS arguements every week. It is ridiculous what the nay-sayers state.

Ediit- forgot to mention that it has been around since the 80's and that MS won over the staff at Grassroots Motorsports.

Talking Thank you Pat

This is what I'm looking for some true spirit about a unit ,and knowing that it's at the track really makes me happy ,like I said before I'm not gona race but I do whant to know what makes it tick inside and out ,your right Pat when you buy the other units you don't know anything about the programs that make it run it's a huge secret so they can make rediculious amounts of money off you .I hate that when anybody has a manopoly on anything especially brand names .I'm gonna keep doing my homework guy's ,so far I'm leaning alot on megasquirt ,we'll see
