Haltech Understanding
I currently have a 87TII and want to go with a Haltech. I am buying a new 60-1 turbo and a streetported motor. I want to install the Haltech at the same time as my engine and turbo swap, and maybe a few othere mods at this time too. Since I have a while to gather my funds for such an operation I want to collect as much information on understanding a Haltech system.
I want to go with the E6K because it is the most advanced. I have many questions that I don't expect to get answered but appreciate the time.
1. What sensors do the E6K require?(tps,AFM,Oxygen) Want to know what I need to junk and what I need to keep on the stock FI.
2. Read that it can control boost. Don't understand how without a valve or something.
3. Do I need to upgrade software versions when I do mods or just adjust?
My questions may seem ignorant but when it comes to Haltech I am very ignorant. Thanks for helping out a new guy..

1) The haltech should come with a coolant sensor and air temp sensor, and throttle position sensor. You will still need an O2 sensor and map sensor. I used my stock air temp sensor and throttle position sensor and O2 sensor. I purchased a 3 bar MAP sensor with my haltech to replace my stock 2 bar sensor.
2) The haltech controls the boost solenoid. Adjusting the duty cycle of this solenoid will adjust boost.
3) The Haltech should come with the latest software. If you have old software it will still work fine.
