Haltech e8 in a ported 87 t2 giving problems..any ideas?
The haltech e8 i just installed is giving problems with the map reading. The reading is stuck at 3.8volts 20.2 psi or 142kpa. I have checked all the wiring and am getting the full 5 volts at the orange wire grounds all through the harness are great and the signal wire is outputting 3.8 volts connected or disconnected. I have triple checked the default map settings at 3 bar loaded all the default settings for that 3 bar and checked the signal coming out of the map with the key on, It being 1.66 volts to prove it is a three bar sensor. This changes with vaccum but with it connected the laptop does not show any pressure changes. if 5 volts is sent through the signal wire the computer will show 200 kpa. The issue seems to be with the signal wire showing 3.8 volts. The carhas started ran and warmed up and all else so far is showing good.
My biggest concern is the plugin manual and what sensors or wires need to be disconnected or removed.
any clues or ideas??

Did you wire the 3 bar MAP sensor into the stock harness or use the 5 pin extension harness that came with the patch loom?
Reason I ask if because I just went through this with a customer. The patch loom schematic shows that the pin for the MAP sensor at the ECU should have continuity to the stock loom. The customer wired his MAP sensor into the stock loom and ended up with the same issue you have. Turns out the schematic is incorrect. He wired the MAP sensor into the extension harness and was off to the races.
