haltech e6k ignitors??

hey guys i just got me a haltech e6k it has only done 1500ks has sat around and was out of a rx7 i got it from aus (im in new zealand) the p/o has it sent to haltech aus to get it tested it was all working as normal. it was abot 380usd with loom ans sensors etc.
now to my question, i have a s4 rx7 with a high comp s4 13b peripheral port hace engine in it i will be running a custom itb set up with 2x 1000cc or 2x 1600cc injectors to keep it simple (one injector per rotor) i have 4x bosch hec715 coils as i was going to go with a microtech with the x4 box but i couldnt find one cheap enuf haha. so can i run my haltech with the microtech x4 box?

You can use any ignitor. Nissan has some 4-channel ignitors in their four and eight cylinder engines that work well. If you do a Google search for SR20DET I'm sure you'll turn up some info.

Also, I would ditch the MAP sensor all together and use TPS as the load source. It's common to setup NA engines this way. Especially with the P-Port, which will have a weak vacuum signal.

The long answer is; it depends. I have no idea what the amp rating of the FC ignitor is, or the Nissan ignitor I suggested for that matter. The coil you decide to use will have an amperage requirement. If you try to run the IGN dumb coil with a 5 amp ignitor, you'll burn down the ignitor is no time. For comparison, the IGN-1A coil has a built-in 19 amp driver. The new Haltech HPI uses a 15 amp driver. The older Bosch style drivers are only rated at 5 amps.

What coil do you want to use? That will determine what driver you should use.

The MSD is a CDI box. Completely different form of ignition.

You should just get a set of LS coils from your local Haltech dealer, they have their own built in Igniter, and the LS1's are proven to be able to driver over 650hp to the wheels on a 13B, if your power goal is lower than that you cant go wrong.

If your power goal is higher than 800-900hp then go with the Haltech HPI + Bosch/Haltech individual coils, this is an awesome setup that will provide plenty of spark for your setup.

Yes, the X4 box is a 4-channel ignitor. It will work fine for you. With the E6K, you will need to use IGN 1 to fire both leading coils (2-channels of the ignitor). IGN 2 and 3 will fire T1 and T2 respectively. You will need to set ignition mode to wastespark and falling edge. Not sure what dwell time those coils will want. I would start at 3ms and monitor the coils for heat and performance and adjust accordingly.
