Guidance please. Ignition setup.

I attempted to set my CAS today. If I recall FSM has leading labeled as 5* ATDC. Previously, I had NSP set at 5* but recently I was reading to set at -5* , which had me really cranking the CAS to compensate. Thoughts?

base timing is set with a timing light while the car is running and the timing lock set in the software. you're effectively setting the offset between real world mechanical timing and what the ecu is commanding. the offset is the number needed to make them match so 5*=5*. the adaptronic set up guide has a instructions on how to do it. regardless of ecu the steps are the same

Thanks for replying. Yes, using a timing light. Just thought it was weird that I’ve read using -5* just trying to confirm. I’ll try again using 5* when I go for it again.

Every car is different. The correction isn't always the same. Don't go in with an expectation of it being or wanting it to be X, just input whatever it is it wants to match.

Update. I checked the flywheel position to the front pulley . Everything is correct. The I noticed something… I was unfamiliar with the timing gun and I overlooked that it is adjustable. It was about 10* off . So that’s my issue. Sheesh.
