Question FC Setup Questions..

I've got an E6K installed in a single turbo '87 TII. I've posted once asking for a map to use but to no avil. Now I'm just asking for some tips on how to set this thing up.

First area: Ignition
1) I've found two different values to use for the tooth offset in the CAS. The hitman value is 1, wile K2RD says 3. Which is the correct value?
2) I've also found two different values to use for the coil charge time, 5.0ms and 3.2ms? The car seems to run better on the 5.0ms charge but I dont want to burn out my coils. Which is better?
3) Is there a way to be able to see the entire ignition map thought out all the ranges at once?

Area two: O2 and Closed loop
1) I'm not getting a reading off of my O2 sensor. I have the 4 wire O2 and I've made sure that it is connected right. I have thought of the fact that it my be dead, but I want to make sure that there isn't some option in the haltech somewhere that must be enabled in order to make it work.

Third area: Fuel
1) I've never tuned by boost before, only by tps. Does anyone have any tips of tuning by boost? I'm going to have access to a wideband and a guy that nows how to use it (thanks stevenos), but neither of us are up on the haltech software really. Also is there a windows version of the haltech software out yet? They used to show it on there site, but when I check just now its not there anymore.

Thanks, Chris

there are some maps on my website that would be a decent starting point for some... you can also get some base maps on http://hitman.hm

http://www.turbo2mazda.com/files/haltech/maps/

I suggest hitman's maps over mine. the explanation.txt file in that directory kind of tells you what each one is.

p.s. nice Sascha K. avatar

"It depends."&nbsp The numbers that K2RD uses is using the stock set-up for the CAS.&nbsp You need to read the write-up for the Hitman set-up, as it requires you to reset the CAS.&nbsp Thus, there are numerous ways to set the ignition timing on the Haltech.

Basically, lower the number the better.&nbsp I normally run about 4.5ms, and this seems to work well with the stock FC coils.&nbsp You can experiment with this setting by lowering the numbers until the engine starts to stumble.&nbsp You NEED to have the fuel (and ignition) maps tuned nicely first!

3) Is there a way to be able to see the entire ignition map thought out all the ranges at once?
On and E6K, not really.&nbsp There is a numerical "spreadsheet" mode which you can toggle, but only advanced users might find this useful.

Yes, you can toggle the O2 sensor closed loop on.&nbsp It had parameters on target voltage and uner what conditions it'll kick in.&nbsp CTRL-O will open up the page to toggle the O2 sensor function.

if your cas is installed like it was from the factory, start with 65, 24, 11. then adjust the trigger angle, or twist the cas around when you zero the timing.
