NE ecu not communicating

Hi guys I need some help on this one. I was driving and the ecu all of a sudden lost power and cut the engine. I tryed connecting my laptop and the ecu was requesting a password before i could do anything and also the fuel pump wasnt priming. After doing some digging I found two fuses popped so I replaced them. After this the ecu was still requesting a password so I went through the laptop and refigured the com port setup. After doing this the ecu is saying the com port connection is not correct and to restart the halwin. At this point I am lost and Im not very computer savy so I need some help on this one. I am going to work on her tomorrow and see what I can get done this time around. I would appreciate any help because my dyno time is coming up and would not like to do an ecu swap and rewire the whole computer setup before the dyno session.

Thank You in advance!!

Well here is what happened. First the fuse to feed the switched ign. for the ecu had blown, no idea why but I replaced it with a circuit breaker. After replacing the fuse I tried to get the ecu to respond and got nothing the pump still wouldnt prime so I did some more digging. I found that the constant power for the ecu was ran into the stock harness for the stock ecu. This was the wire at fault so after rewiring the wire to the battery directly the ecu primed the pump. So then I plugged in the laptop and after trying a few differnt com ports I got it to communicate, loaded up a map and started tuning the startup again. And I finally got the exhaust ordered

Thanks for posting the video I followed those steps for setting up the com port.
