E6X Ignition Quirk

I've noticed something with my E6X and wonder if anyone else has noticed this.
First - I do not have what I would call an ignition "problem"
Once it starts - Leading and Trailing do not miss a beat.

But - It ALWAYS starts on the trailing, and the Leading kicks in 1 to 5 seconds later.

I have a MSD6A and coil dedicated for each plug.

I get my Tach signal from the tach output of the MSD (been doing that for 23 years)

The car starts and runs fine on the trailing.
Some time later the RPM increases slightly at the same time the tach starts reading - the Leading kicks in.

My leading and trailing MSD's "Power On Enable" has never changed from it's "Pre-Haltech" setup. The only thing that changed is now the Haltech sends them the trigger pulses.

Does anyone know why this might be?

Clue:
My first E6X did the same thing (but had another problem)
My current E6X exhibits the identical "delayed leading" (without the other problem)

Just out of curiosity, are your MSDs in 100% working order? did you check where the delay comes from, either the Haltech or the MSDs?

Are you powering up the MSDs with separate relays or directly from the battery with an ignition switch activator?

Hi Claudio.

Before the E6X - I had 3 MSD's set up for Direct Fire, triggering from the magnetic pick-ups in the stock distributor. I never saw a delay in the leading's operation.
With the E6X I noticed it immediately.
Then I got a 4th MSD, and both the leading MSD's tach output exhibit this.

Now I am using a 2nd Gen CAS (with the Haltech) so that is another difference.
But - The 2nd Gen just provides a "home" and pulse signals that are neither leading or trailing (I think?) and it is up to the Haltech to generate Leading and Trailing pulses.
Is that correct?
So I don't think it's the CAS.

I have a dash switch so I can run on just leading, just trailing or both by controlling the MSD "Enable" line.
The car runs fine on just leading and also just trailing - so all 4 MSD's are definitely working correctly.
So I don't think it's the MSD's.

The tach signal indicates that the Leading ignition works 100% of the time - with the exception of the first few seconds of running.

But - there are also times when the Leading is working during starup.

Go Figure?!?!

Well, when you use an E6X, and the factory CAS, igniters and coils, you have to connect it differently than when using the haltech in direct fire. Also, the tacho signal is supposed to come from the trailing1 coil. Would you consider reconnecting everything and using the toggle/aux. out wire option? just to be sure that the Haltech can run everything fine.
