E6K v7.17 problems?

Just curious if anyone else is having problems with programmer stability (computer-side software locking up) with the new v7.17 firmware. We've tried 3 laptops and a desktop and none of them are stable. v6.34 is rock solid, but it won't work with the v7.17 firmware.

First, we had a v6.34 E6K that would lose it's memory whenever it was powered down. Sent that to Haltech. We swapped in another recently serviced E6K that Haltech had reflashed with 7.17 but failed to provide the compatible programmer software. It's not on their web site either. After getting them to email it to us, we had the stability problems, making it impossible to tune. So, we swapped in a third E6K with v6.34 and used that. Works perfectly.

I'm guessing that v7.17 is buggy and that's why they don't have it on the web site. Anyone else have problems with it?

I've never had ANY luck with any of the v7.xx firmwares.
I've always used the v6.34 with all the E6K's I tune with good reliability.
Do you need the dual map function?

Its good to hear that some of you arent really having problems with v7.17 for the K ECUs, Haltech never really did make that version public, and it basically was known to have some issues, it was the stepping stone for the first E6X DOS units that came first, with its respective fixes.

I would stick with v6.34 for the K. I know its cool to have the dual map feature, but is it really worth it?

After all, making a different map and reloading it isnt that much trouble. Just my 2 cents.
