E6k and road speed

Does the e6k need road speed or is there any other reason I should hook the haltech up to the the speed sensor. My install is almost complete and I just wondered if I should hook this up or not worry about it.

Its simply another input for datalogging. If you want to view your speed etc. I believe you hook it into the cruise control somehow.

The road speed is used if you are using the E6K for an auto, otherwise it is just an extra thing in you datalog.

If you want to hook it up wiring is on my site.

Thanks, I didn't hook it up. And everything worked fine. I could't imagine why it would have needed it other than to just datalog. thanks

Is there a road speed sensor on the manual transmissions? I'm putting a s5 TII tranny in my 1st gen, as part of my engine swap. And I'm curious where this sensor is: on the tranny, on the 3rd member, or what?
I'd like to hook this up, because with road speed, there is a ton of calculations that can be made really easily. ( There are other ways around it, but this makes it computationally cheap)
