Question E6K on an Auto FD?

There is a guy in town that has an automatic FD and he just purchased a BUNCH of parts for it... T-78, E6k and all of the supporting staff from fuel to exhaust.

Is this ECU even going to work with his auto tranny?

I know, its an auto... and who mods an auto... well, this guy does, and I guess its ok, since he only has one leg

i would piggy back the e6k so it did timing and fuel, and the stock ecu is still there to run the tranny.

j9fd3s has the correct answer to keep the tranny's hold function working. i have the haltech piggy-backed in mine and the stock ecu only has a couple functions under its grasp with talking to the tranny being one.

oh, i guess i modify an automatic.

well kurgan you beat me 2 the punch.

I was getting ready to ask the same ?. The haltech manual shows all the steps needed to wire it into an auto. But im thinking of putting in a gm700r4 with a trans break no worry then about the computer im measuring now looking at all the space issues. If this dont work the have a stand alone set up for trannies problem then solved also. I was couriouse how this piggy back hooks up though. If you could fill me in on some of the details i might go that way.

But dont rule out the gm tranny cuz a trans break and the lower first gear will be a good way to go. Also my car is getting 410.00 gears also.... Thanks jason.

If your wondering the hole parts list let me know ill tell you.

What are you talking about? Who makes a standalone for trannies?

Also, if you are fitting a domestic tranny in your rx7, you may want to contact grannies speed shop. they mostly deal with 1st and 2nd gen cars, but they probably have an adapter plate to mate that tranny to a rotary rear housing.

I'm looking at a T-56 for my conversion, but I may just end up with a Geforce tranny.

Thats another idea... Gforce sells a clutchless manual that you may want to look at... but they are $$$BLING$$$
