BC E11-V1 and Halwin 1.89 compatible?

An oldy but a goody. Hoping Claudio or someone else with good E11 knowledge can jump in and assist here. Greatly appreciated.

I have a Haltech E11-V1 ( version 1 ). Got it for a good price and not in my budget to upgrade. The Version 1 is a bit rare and Haltech has a company policy of not allowing any Tech support for these, as they were all " supposedly " recalled.

Here's where I stand. I have successfully upgraded the Firmware from Build 19/Halwin 1.26 and now run Build 32 with Halwin 1.71. All Halwin versions up to 1.71 has detection for both V1 and V2 versions of the ECU.

However, this detection was removed in Halwin Version 1.89 with Build 35 firmware.

I would like to try Halwin 1.89 as it includes an " Auto Tune " feature. However, ECU recognition for the E11-V1 models has been removed. That doesn't necessarily mean that Halwin 1.89 won't work with an E11-V1. But I'm kinda winging it here, and exploring strange new worlds....

And I don't really want to brick my ECU with Firmware update that is incompatible....

Just wondering if any of the E11 experts have ever tried updating a V1 to Build 35 and Halwin 1.89 and was it successful? TIA

From what I understand from Haltech sources. The main change from the V1 to the V2 versions was a manufacturing change to the AMP connectors. Haltech only made about 100 of the V1 versions.

The V1 had 36 and 36 pin connectors . The V2 had 34 and 26 pin connectors. Rather than supplying two different wiring looms and two different types of connectors for replacement parts, Haltech decided to recall all of the V1's and replace them with V2's in an exchange program ( Long since expired ).

I'm thinking that the pinouts may be different in the software???
