Disabling Stock S5 Alarm

Hi guys,

I recently had a Haltech E8 installed in my 89 GTU dedicated track car. Now that the Haltech is installed my stock alarm likes to go off when I turn the ignition key. Although I don't really understand why the install was the trigger, before the Haltech install I never had this problem. Since this is a dedicated track car I am absolutely fine with disabling the stock alarm completely.

After doing some searching it looks like the way to disable a stock S5 alarm is to pull the middle plug on the CPU in the driver's kick panel next to the fuse box. Is anything else I would care about that will also be disabled using this method? Is there a better way to do this? My car no longer has horns or stock belts and I don't care about the ignition key light.

Thank you,

jason

Just rip the Alarm module out. It's under the dash, driver's side, small gold box.

Do you have a picture or exact location of the gold box? I do not see it referenced in the S5 Mazda shop manual. The only thing I see that mentions alarm functions is the integrated CPU (does more than just the alarm).

Thanks,

jason

the alarm going off has to be just co-incedence... the stock ecu doesnt have anything to do with it.

you are right, the s5 has the alarm in the cpu, s4 is a seperate box
