OR Knock Boxes Available

Closed loop knock control for Haltechs.

Pulls user adjustable amount of timing under knock.

Automatically rebuilds timing back, will immediately re-pull timing if engine knocks again.

Knock Box Function Video

Here is a realtime display of how the unit works.

The BLUE line is the output of the GM Module. When the knock sensor senses knock the GM Module creates a very short square wave. This immediately makes the Knock Box output (Yellow line) drop (causing Haltech to pull timing via the trim fucntion) and slowly rebuild the voltage (and timing) back to nominal.

For questions or orders PM me. $75 w/complete instructions 2-3day shipped.

I forgot about this! Is it compatible with a Sprint RE as well? What exactly does the kit contain? Is there anything additional that needs to be purchased? Thanks!

The kit contains the complete assembled/wired box. It also includes detailed, color instructions for full install including GM ignition module, knock sensor, power, gnd etc. I’ve had people comment that they are very comprehensive/easy to follow. You will need: single wire knock sensor and the GM Ignition module described in the thread. You can pluck one of these at a Pick-n-Pull for about $5-10. Complete install takes less than an hour.

I am not familiar with the Sprint RE. However, this box will work with any ECU that has a function that allows an analog signal control a timing correction. i.e. The haltech trim **** pulls timing by altering a 5VDC signal from 0.1-2.5V with the use of a potentiometer. This box mimics that potentiometer. Therefore if your ECU has an analog input and corresponding map/correction factor to influence timing this will get ya setup.

If you have more questions, PM your phone number to me and we can chat.

Thanks,

The Sprint ECU does not have a provision for trim. If you add one of the soon to be released I/O boxes, those functions will can be added.

You don't know the Haltech jargon? When they say it'll be out by SEMA, you have to ask SEMA of what year.

The boxes are done. The software is already released. We were given a release level I/O box to beta test a month or so ago. We're still waiting on firm pricing and the actual units to start shipping. "soon"

thinking about gettin' one...

Which knocksensor would you advise and which installation point? (i think original knock sensor mounting point of the rear housing because of the possible leaner conditions of the rear rotor?)
