(3) Do you keep the stock thermoswitch with the haltech?

I've been slooowly trying to rewire everything on my FD, trying to make my engine compartment clean and empty... It such a good feeling throwing all those solinoids away.

Just wondering this question since the you enable fans to come on at a certain temp via the haltech can you rip out the thermoswitch? and just tap the coolant sensor in there like on the hitmans site.

I am not doing an Fd, I will be doing an FC haltech though, and I plan or ripping out everything that was used by the stock ecu, the haltech has the ability to control fans and A/c triggger, so I would think its not neccesary to leave in the stock thermoswitch, as long as the sensor is installed like you say, on the Hitmans site..Max

I use the Haltech for low speed, and the thermo switch for High speed. My cooling system works good enough for low speed cooling, and the fans even cycle.

I used the stock thermoswitch just like ... well stock. They cycle on the high speed setting.

You can leave it in. It comes on around 212F (please correct me if I am wrong, it has been a few years), and the Haltech controls when the fans come on low. So there is no need to remove it unless you feel like rewiring the relays like a few have done. Then you only have one speed (low, med or high, however you want wire it), it is up to you.

I would just leave it in there, unless you really want to tear everything out.
