Gonna have to do final tweeks to the brackets to make sure everything is still playing nice. Then it's a matter of cutting / welding brackets and ordering lamps.
Best case, we open the Group Buy so we can start tallying up which lamps we need to order from Hella. Worst case, we needle around a little more... but really, that wouldn't necessarily effect ordering lamps since I assume there's going to be lead time involved from Hella.

Info only, there are two additional parts that will be required for those wanting to replace their headlight housing rain guards. The additional parts needed will be: FD0151SL1A (right) and FD0151SL2A (left). The parts I advised on in my previous thread covered the gap between the hood and headlight housing. These two parts cover the remaining gap between the fender and the headlight housing. These parts sell between $48 and $38 depending on the dealer. Just thought I would post for those that might be interested in swapping them

This is what i mean, instead of seeing two separate lights you see a solid single rectangular head light. I'm not saying you should change to this i was just thinking your kit could possibly house headlights like this too. It gives it a different look and more of a stock look. I wonder if you could even find headlights small enough to use like this, maybe you have to make your housing. Just food for thought while we wait for your kit to be released.

That's cool. I like it. But that's not this project.
Here's my .02
1) Those look like NSX lamps. NSX lamps are NOT cheap. Not cheap new, not cheap (or even readily available) used. I actually just checked, $521 per side. So that's $1100, before buckets, before shrouds, before wiring, before profit. Target price on this complete kit is $1000-$1200.
2) The rectangular look is cool on the MR2 (and NSX) because they are more 'boxy' cars. The FD is curves everywhere, thus why the round lamps are more appealing.
3) Offering two different buckets, two different shrouds, two different wiring setups just doesn't make sense. If 50 of these kits sell I will be surprised (happily surprised!). Trying to run two extremely similar, but different kits will cannibalize a tiny market as-is.
That said - I think this kit could be MODIFIED to house a set of NSX lamps. It would require some massaging - but I think it would be perfectly doable. If you really wanted to try and go down that route, feel free to PM me once we get rolling. I'm always happy to see people expand on my ideas!

That kit already exists. It is made by veilside.

I can take some measurements of MAXIMUM width these housings would support. But again, it would be a completely custom job.

Totally get it and that is something i was considering actually. The reason i like it is because it still retains some what a stock look but also changes enough of the headlights to be different. I still love pop up headlights and was always a fan of the sleepy eye look.
I think i will give you a PM once you start things rolling!
