SMIC Cold-Side Pipe...
So there seems to be a void in product availability right now and if there's enough interest - I'm up for trying to fill it.
The Problem
Basically, if you want to run an OEM Style SMIC, such as the GReddy/TRUST, Knightsport Super-U, ARC or Blitz - along with the GReddy compression elbow off the throttle body... you are SOL when it comes to connecting the two.
GReddy *used* to make a pipe that made everything play nice - but that's long discontinued and even finding used ones proves difficult.
The Solution
A new pipe! Well, easier said than done. There is of course always the path of having a shop weld something up - but what I want is a true replacement part that's mandrel bent, beaded on the ends and essentially a "bolt-on" piece.
If you're still with us and not sure what I'm talking about, check it out:
What I am looking to recreate is the pipe from the GReddy elbow connecting to the SMIC.
The delivered product would be "raw" 6061 aluminum with the option for high polished finish (at an additional cost).
So Can I Buy One?
Currently, I have reached out to about a dozen places around Metro Detroit with mandrel benders that do aluminum. Most don't have the correct dies, won't do low volume or are just too busy to take on the project. However, I have found TWO places able to bid the job. Just to give you a crash course on the manufacturing process, there is usually a cost for R&D (convert the pipe into a CAD file), a cost for the actual tooling needed to form the pipe as well as the per piece cost to produce each pipe. All these factors effect final price and final price is effected by number of units produced.
So now, we have to figure out what the level of interest is in order to figure out how many pipes to produce. I'll start...

I feel your pain!
Response hasn't been tremendous... at 10 pieces, cost per piece will be higher than a GReddy elbow. At 20 pieces that number comes a little more in line with the GReddy elbow. Oh... and those are *unpolished* estimates.
I'm debating just going for the full run of 20, assuming once they are actually available, more people will want them. Decisions, decisions...

Hello all.
I am reaching out to all who are in need of this SMIC Cold side pipe. I recently bought a Knightsport Super U IC from RHD Japan, expect delivery next month. I am working with RHD Japan to get a bulk order placed for these pipes.
RHD will not carry these pipes for sale on their site, this is a rare opportunity to get these NEW from Greddy. They are asking for the quantity required, this will most likely determine the price per pipe. No price point has been given to me as yet.
If you want one of these, now is the time to step forward and let me know.
Time is of the essence on this buy, you snooze, you miss out.
Best Regards.
Drew.

I wish there was more demand as I think it would have been a fun project.
Good luck to all.

However, it IS an option that's out there!
