Over the winter, I usually try to start the car and let it run for a bit every 1 or 2 weeks. I've been avoiding it since ordering this part; with the irony in my life, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if my car caught on fire while my quick-release mount was in the mail.

You can buy an extinguisher before the mount arrives

Have a 2.5lb Halon in the back seat. But that's precious seconds!

Ok we're good to go everything is in, we're starting to pack these bad boys up tomorrow. I'll post some extinguisher mount pics tomorrow. Thanks everyone for being so freaking patient. It makes me proud to be a part of this community... even when things take longer than they should we haven't heard a single bad comment. Thanks again for your support everyone, you guys are the ones that continue to inspire us to create new parts for the FD, and allow us to make these things a reality for the community.

I'm happy to say we've got a million different things in the works at the moment (few of which I can comment on) but I'm excited to button up development on the next few things we're working on shortly.

Thanks everyone for another successful GB!

This GB is closed but we'll be doing another run if there's enough interest. We've got a few sets left over on the website at retail and have all extinguishers in stock (Halon/Halotron in black, red, chrome).

Just got mine a couple of hours ago. Fitment is perfect, and instructions were extremely easy to follow

Also got it today. The 13mm socket needed was not mentioned in the tools section of the instructions, btw. :P

Shitty phone pictures - better than any other camera we have, though.

I got mine today too. Everything fit perfectly, I might have to adjust the mounting of my extinguisher though, not sure if it's going to clear the floor if I move the seat forward. It only took me about 20 minutes to install it. Very happy with it.

Take any pictures of the Loch Ness monster recently with that equipment?

Looks great, mine is supposed to arrive today along with a large random order from Ray Crowe. Looking forward to a little down time this weekend

The extinguisher is intended to be mounted in the other direction like in shmacklepap's photos above.

It works best if you position the nozzle up and angled slightly in towards the seat. With it in this position, there is full movement of the seat and no contact to your legs when getting in the car.

^ I'd say for getting in, you'd be better off keeping it the way speedjunkie has it. The bottom side of the fire extinguisher is smooth and won't grab your leg like the nozzle side. I played around quite a bit with my SBG ripoff mount and found it worked best for getting in and out with the nozzle facing in. If he has problems sliding the seat back and forth, he could always slide the extinguisher farther to the right in the mount. This would give him more clearance on the left.

Food for thought.

Sorry about that, I'll add it to the instructions for future orders

It works either way. I just tested it, and by orientating the nozzle like in the picture below the seat is able to slide without any contact.

The opposite direction is preferred because of the placement of the seat slider handle. Reaching down to slide the seat it is easy to grab the fire extinguisher handle accidentally. It is protected by the safety pin, but I would not want my passengers grabbing at that.

Despite what you may have tried, with the nozzle on the outside angled towards the seat, your legs do not hit it when getting in and out. Sure its possible, but you kind of need to try to do it.

Regardless, its user preference.

Guess I cant edit my post...

Just noticed Speedjunkies extinguisher was angled very similar to what I posted. It does clear on my car, but it is very close. You may need to angle it slightly more.
