They are in machining now, though the machine shop is running behind schedule. They're aiming for end of next week for machining to be done... then it's off to coating, packing, and finally shipping. So there is still some work left, but we're at least in the "weeks" zone now

We could do it if enough people want them. Come to think of it, I have replaced mine twice from mazda (though you need the entire piece, not just the lid) and the texture of the new parts no longer matches the older texture (94+) not to mention, a year later... it broke. I'm on the 3rd one now and it's starting to seize up . I love mazda but they make cheap crap . Now it's been a long time since i played with the lid but.... is it just the lid plastic that breaks, or the clip/holder inside the pocket? if its just the lid, then it's definitely a possibility. Anyone know the price for mazda on that replacement?

^See RotorMotor? You already have two LOL. I don't think you can get just the lid from Mazda can you? I thought you had to get the whole pocket, which is about a couple hundred I think. It's ridiculously expensive just like every other interior piece, I know that much. I don't want the whole pocket because the pocket holds up just fine. Not sure about the tab though. I could care less if mine even locked in, my old one never did since I've had it, I just want something sturdy to cover the hole.

I'd be in for a new map pocket lid. Machined aluminum would be schweet!

I'd rather have the map pocket delete that one of the vendors is supposedly making right now. If you guys want map pockets, by all means keep them! =)

You know, I've ordered this door handle and I believe it is going to be a great part. My only concern is has there been any consideration that stress could now be placed on a different part of the door plastic causing that to break?

Just curious as I know the SB guys make high quality products and think things through.

PS: It would be nice if I could receive confirmation that my payment was received 2 weeks ago as the list does not reflect that.

It wont put stress on other door plastics... the handle is meant to take the stress OFF the door plastics. Infact, the door plastic actually bolts TO the handle... not the other way around... the reason they self destruct is because the handle breaks and you end up pulling on the door plastics that are connected to the handle. So long story short, fix the handle, fix the door. We have also used a larger bolt for the metal bracket that goes to the door (which makes the whole assembly even stronger than before)... though you will have to sliiiightly enlarge the hole on the metal bracket.

It would probably need to be cast to A) retain the proper texture for 94+ B) exactly match the protrusions from the pocket cover.

I don't know why they made the map pocket so small.... I've looked at it and it seems like it could be larger than mazda made it. Right now it fits sunglasses and a CD case if youre lucky. I've also considered using it to hide something like a profec b, my tein suspension adjustment dealie etc ... I'm out of hiding places at the moment for all the toys.

nope, sorry. We need at least 60 people to make a RHD one...

Scrub has been slacking on that part... his job is to keep the list updated and manage it, cause I don't have the time. I'll make sure he gets on this immediately ... sorry for the delay!

I, for one, could care less if it's the same texture as the 94 plastics, BUT I would like it to match the protrusions, so whatever would have to be done I suppose. I just know it would have to last longer as long as it's not made out of plastic still.

SBG needs to make one. Mine broke 11 years ago and to this day it still bugs me to see it missing. Its bugs me more than my broken passenger door handle lol
