IL Gauging Interest - Coil Relocation Brackets

Moderators if you could read this first...

I was told asked to make this thread in the GB section. However, I can't because I am not an active vendor. Reference this thread please.

https://www.rx7club.com/how-use-boar.../#post11730262

If I generate enough interest I will follow protocol and pay for vendor status. If this thread breaks the rules please email me at cruetsche@gmail.com

Members,

I've been working on a NEW 1 piece design for my coil brackets. Many of you already run this setup and are happy with it. This thread is to compile a list of those interested. I will run this group buy accordingly in the GB section if I get 20-25 owners interested. This thread is for INTEREST only and no sales will be conducted through it.

Description

This coil relocation kit takes the stock coils away from the oven under the UIM and moves them to the driver side, nested between the strut tower and the master cylinder.

Longer spark plug wires are required and can be made quite easily. I will provide the service or give you the part number required for the DIY'ers.

I'm designing the new bracket to be 1 piece. This will keep the cost down. The new one will also have drilled and tapped holes for easier install.

I will sell them for 115 shipped if I can interest 20 owners.

REMEMBER--This is got interest only. No payments will be collected.

I have one of your old brackets with the etched logo. I absolutely love it! I would be interested in this again for my current build...but only with the logo as it adds some Flare!

Also, it almost might be beneficial to see if a similar bracket could be made to appeal to the guys that are running the AEM smart coils that SBG sells.

I would be able to do that easily. I was thinking about leaving the etched top off on this one to cut cost. I would be able to add it easily though.

How many people are running the AEM smart coils?

We actually produce custom ultra-low resistance wires for DIY applications... we stock all of the components for the stock coils and could put together a "kit" specifically for your setup if there's interest.

We currently have a "universal" mount and one that sits in the cruise location. If the design was similar to this one I'd suggest being aware that these coils are quite large and need cooling... I'm not sure I'd enclose them too much. It would be nice to hide them under a plate for a clean install but I'd suggest leaving the bottom as open as possible for cooling etc.

any updates...I would be interested if you could make use of the AEM style coils. Airflow is not an issue as I have a vent right there on my hood.
