Defined Autoworks V-mount kit is here :)

Finally after so many requests we now offer a full bolt on V-mount kit.

It includes--

-- modified Koyo large core radiator
-- modified 18x 12x 3.5 bar and plate intercooler,
-- heavy duty steel mounting brackets that are mounted on included rubber isolators
-- Aluminum ducting
-- cold side intercooler pipe that mates to a greddy elbow
-- silicone couplers
-- aluminum radiator pipe
-- radiator hoses
-- all mounting hardware.

Price is currently $1350 . Which is higher than we would like. If we get 3+ orders at the same time we can get it down to $1250.00

WEBSITE CURRENTLY HAS INCORRECT PRICE! Which will be changed and updated shortly.

Key differences to our kit vs. what is currently on the market-

The intercooler and radiator are supported by large rubber isolators. No broken end tanks, or cracked radiators over time from solid mounting.
We included every nut and bolt for installation.
Each kit is test fitted to ensure no hassle assembly
Ducting that actually seals off 90% of bypass air.
Will work with a/c, but we currently do not supply the brackets to do so. End user will have to fit the condenser.
Will work with twin turbo and single turbo
Will work with power steering
Will work stock fans *if* trimmed in two corners. We personally recommend using a single 14" fan.

This looks awesome!!! I gotta start saving for my turbo swap

Gringo Grande 03-31-11 07:42 AM

Wow! Looks to be a relatively inexpensive price but with great fitment! Great deal for those in the market

evot23 03-31-11 07:44 AM

I say go for it Kevin...you know you are dying for a vmount

justturbo2 03-31-11 08:12 AM

looks awsome

93rx74lyfe 03-31-11 08:23 AM

Will the ducting also work with a 99 spec bumper? Is there any way to supply a hot side pipe for those on the twins?

Polak Graphics 03-31-11 08:28 AM

We have needed something at this price point and quality for a while.

RX7 RAGE 03-31-11 08:48 AM

looks great

amp 03-31-11 09:02 AM

are those brackets aluminum...

GtoRx7. 03-31-11 09:29 AM

^^
Brackets are steel. We have found that aluminum brackets eventually fatigue and crack over time.

Supernaut 03-31-11 09:34 AM

Wow awesome stuff. Great job as usual.

Ehron 03-31-11 09:39 AM

Damn it. I think I'm going to sell my Rotary-Works kit and buy this. This looks significantly more complete.

Great idea -- inexpensive add-on?

How much testing has been done in 90+ degree weather with the single 14" fan? Everything else looks great though and the price is good. I just never see any after market fans that compare to the performance of the stock fans.

How much CFM do the stock fans pull? I would think a single 14" fan could pull 1200 - 1300+...yes (?)

Funkspectrum 03-31-11 11:26 AM

I like it. Almost makes me want to sell my M2 setup...

Herblenny 03-31-11 11:38 AM

kit looks good. Any on the twins?

AzEKnightz 03-31-11 11:38 AM

this look's pretty good. If there's enough interest, is it possible to start a group buy to lower the cost =)?

2870 CFM with both fans running... https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/stock-radiator-fan-cfm-rating-686184/

Also, it's not just about CFM, but how much of the radiator core you are using. I don't think a single 14" fan would cut it in traffic in hot weather, but I could be wrong. I think a nice slim dual fan setup pushing somewhere around 2000 CFM and covering the whole radiator (shrouded preferably), would be a much better setup.

Oscypek1007 03-31-11 11:48 AM

Nice! I'm in for a group buy!

sounds right to me..I concur

cabaynes 03-31-11 12:15 PM

Looking good, but using a modified Koyo means that the drain plug is facing UP and you won't be able to fully drain the system without removing the radiator.

Slevin77 03-31-11 12:30 PM

Beautiful vmount! Wish I just didn't buy the blitz fmic... =(

Slevin77 03-31-11 12:30 PM

One question, are the koyos the new n-flows?

dvo 03-31-11 12:50 PM

How much "trimming" of the corners do you have to do to fit stock fans? Will this work with an intake such as HKS RS for twins?

neit_jnf 03-31-11 12:53 PM

IN! pmed...

Narfle 03-31-11 01:46 PM

Very nice. Thank you for providing the community with another quality V-mount option.

Always ahead with the latest innovation ;)

+1

Includes rubber mounts and every required bolt, ducting and test fitted... Sounds like quality to me. :)

Ps don't forget about the FC when your designing your next kit. Curretly, there is no good option out there for them.

Good eye... and that also made me look for AST line to hook up to the radiator.. Does it have one? I couldn't find the nipple for the AST. IF there is one, you could use that to drain the system.

oppa637 03-31-11 04:53 PM

Wow, make the a/c brackets and i'm in.

KaiFD3S 03-31-11 05:00 PM

Who makes the IC core?

the_glass_man 03-31-11 06:06 PM

That's a very nice looking kit for an incredible price!

TheAsset 03-31-11 06:14 PM

I thought about providing this same sort of kit for the community after building my own, I can see it's very well thought out! The price is right on and the quality looks good.

GooRoo 03-31-11 06:16 PM

What size inlet/outlet is on that IC? Based on those step-down couplers I'm thinking 2"?

Looks more like 2.5" to me. I think 2" would be too small.

Power steering line just stays in stock position?

To drain the rest- stick a small hose in it, other end lower (into a container), suck a little air out of it and whola. It's not rocket science. I wouldn't exactly consider that a deciding factor.

GtoRx7. 04-01-11 12:47 AM

Glad to see such postitve feedback! Alright let me try to answer all the questions....

We have used a 14" fan on quite a few V-mount setups, and even in 90+ degree weather they never had a issue with getting even remotely hot. Without anything blocking the radiator, it only sees cool air when the fan kicks on.

Intercooler is from one of our suppliers, seems to be very similar to the godspeed. Dimensions are 18"x12" x 3.5".

On the drain facing up, only a small amount will be left in the radiator. But if every drop must be removed then the ast line can be popped off.

Intercooler inlet and outlet is 2.5" and the hot pipe is 3"
The coupler included step from 3" to 2.75" for the greddy elbow. This way if someone wants to cut the step from the greddy elbow it can still be used with a 3" straight coupler.

Group buy is always welcome! Get 5 going and the price will be cheaper. 10 people and the price will be even better!

We can build the twins hot pipe for a additional $95

Power steering line stays where it is, may need slight adjustment

A/C mounting option is coming, just have to look into it!

The Koyo is not the "N" flow, not sure if I like the n-flow yet.

joey77051 04-01-11 01:02 AM

im waiting for the a/c mounting option.....haha

Boosted11 04-01-11 01:21 AM

Looks like a great kit, good job!

Bookmarked for future fd.

Gringo Grande 04-01-11 01:45 AM

Question: Should someone have a Koyo N-Flo would you sell the kit at a reduced price with no radiator if the brackets could fit (which I doubt they do but figured I'd ask). Thank you.

Ehron 04-01-11 05:59 AM

Question, did you have to extend the wiring to the relay box to relocated it on the driver's side of the engine bay as you have in this picture?

https://i254.photobucket.com/albums/...a/DSC01656.jpg

Looks like a great product, thanks!

Did you read my post and its context?? I've drained plenty this way and hence I mentioned it. I just did not see the nipple for the AST and asked if anyone else saw it.

And you are right.. its not a rocket science and any should be able to figure that out, hence I didn't go into details... Also, if you search my SN and how to drain coolant, you will see, I have even better system of draining using AST line.

And also right.. This shouldn't be a deciding factor but would be nice to already have a line at the lower end of the radiator since radiator is flipped for V mount purpose.. And for those using AST.

Herblenny 04-01-11 09:27 AM

Logan,

I've switched to N flow and FMIC and I been very happy with the results. Since FMIC blocks quite of bit of air, I was concern my water temp will go even higher.. But with the N flow, I'm actually running cooler than MS radiator I had in stock location... Just my 2 cents on N flow.

I've also heard N flow option is pretty easy to do if you weld..

Yeah that is no problem. Just take off $290 from the V-mount total cost.

Looks like a great product, thanks!

Yes we did. Although after doing quite a few, if you untape the harness you will find that a majority of the wires will reach to the side and only a few need extended.

neit_jnf 04-03-11 10:09 AM

All I want is the mounting hardware and the ducts, is this an option?

btw, I already have the lower rad mounts and the coolant pipe that I bought from you. please check your pms!

joey77051 04-03-11 04:03 PM

still waiting on the a.c mounting options....
