What are the chances another one of these could happen in a couple of months, say closer to September?

abc 06-06-11 05:58 PM

Form another 5 serious buyer and PM the builder. I'm sure he'll be in for another GB.

Yes, the GB is officially filled up a few days ago. Feel free to start on a new list of 5 people and another GB can happen.

*update for current GB buyers*

Our source for the intercoolers is still out of stock and keeps telling me two more weeks. I am going to go through another source, and hope they have some, to get this ball moving. Once they show up then the process is pretty quick. We have modified the radiators, and made other parts so progress is occurring. Thanks to everyone being patient, things like this sometimes happen in the high performance world during race season!

abc 06-07-11 01:28 AM

Try the PWR cores??? I had great past experience with them....I sort of perfer their tubular fins that is rounded and has less restriction as compared to the flat ones.

http://www.pwrusainc.com/default.aspx

Rawbz08 06-08-11 11:07 AM

^ They make other Mazda core why not hit them up to see about making a v-mount as well!!!

Im sure its about if the price is right.

blmcquig 06-08-11 09:40 PM

let me know when the next GB starts.

GtoRx7. 06-08-11 11:49 PM

Everything is already made and jigged for the intercoolers we have been using. Plus there would be a major price increase to use PWR intercoolers.

A second group buy can start now. Sooner the better as all the parts are being manufactured.

Rawbz08 06-13-11 08:56 PM

Anything new to update with?

abc 06-14-11 12:35 AM

I'm in for updates too. Seems like this GB is getting the run around.......atleast I feel like it is

GtoRx7. 06-14-11 12:42 AM

No run around, was just waiting to get the intercoolers to get in. Had to go through another source, but we got them. Going to be cutting and welding all this week to get this show on the road.

Working on them everyday guys. There is only two of us, and much more than just v-mounts finish up. We work 10+ hrs, 7 days a week to try and keep everyone happy.

Any additional info on a polish option?

Any additional info on optional AC brackets?

Looking forward to more installed pictures on customers' cars, looks like a great product :)

It does look like a great product. I hope you are making money on these - I'd like to see you stick around!

My eyes bug out when I see your email past 11:00pm pst, I would assume that is 1:00 or even 2:00 am your time? You guys have dedication. :icon_tup:

Logans work is quality/perfection! ,
His currently doing most of my fab up parts and sold me aftermarket parts for my 20B FD install and sending them to Australia.

Really wish he was in Australia tho, to fit it all and tune it lol

Cheers,
Adrian

We can get the intercooler pipes polished, only trouble is finding a reliable place to do it. The a/c brackets are going to get fabbed with this batch of intercooler kits.

For us they go by too fast! Just a quick update- all the intercoolers have had the support bungs welded on, the radiators have the support bungs welded on and inlets outlets modified/welded. New side mount brackets, duct work, and lower mounts are in process. So everything is coming together nicely.

abc 06-28-11 08:31 PM

AzEKnightz 07-01-11 04:32 PM

hmmm, update would be nice? Not trying to bash anyone here, but lately many vendors has been telling us that they are getting things done and cannot hold the original promise. At first you stated that it takes 3 weeks turn around time, and since payment its been 2 months.

I know you guys are working hard and all, but I strongly believe that if it cannot be done within a time frame DONT start it.

Again, I know this is/will be a great product however I've been giving the run-around in this GB. If I knew it would take this long (2 months since payment), I couldve waited 2 months and used the money somewhere else whereas I am sitting here out of 1200 waiting and waiting.

Seriously Vendors, if you say X amount of time, stick to that or dont even start the GB.

Sorry Logan, this is not just towards you but this has been like a "trent" in many of the GBs lately and I just need to let that out.

-AzEKnightz

GtoRx7. 07-02-11 09:16 PM

I gave a update a couple days ago, its hard to get on more than once every few days. I totally understand the frustration, we do not enjoy taking longer any more than anyone else. The intercoolers being on back order were the biggest setback of about a month. Especially when I checked ahead of time and they were "suppose" to be in stock. But I do give apologies to everyone for the increased wait.

abc 07-03-11 02:19 AM

Yes or No??? Can all the buyers recieve their purchase items at the end of this month now that things are progressing. Working 10hr days should leave PLENTY of room for completion I believe.

There's 200 hrs after July 4th and not including weekends for completion of 5 kits. Very resonable I believe.

Happy 4th everyone!!

Rawbz08 07-03-11 11:14 AM

I feel i know how all the long hours effect everyone.
I've been working 12 to 16 hours 7 days a week since april 25. And finally got 2 days off. I still have until October 7 working the same schedule. I'm definatly burned out that's for sure.
I'm know everyone is in different stages of their build and have learned that patients is a vertue that we all need to enable in to our selves. Shit happens I am aware of that.
As for AzEs comment about the other GBs around here i agree.
Logan: keep up the good work I'll continue my support in this GB for a great product.

So what do you think of throwing in something for the delay? Lol
Say.... Uhm the ic ducting for the hood. Jk but if you could that would be great.

Well bs aside keep up the good work Logan.

We will see what we can do. The margin on these kits is already so low, hard to afford to throw in much. :/ We appreciate the support!

Hey, sorry if i missed this, But i could not see it on here or on your site. What is shipping? and I'm in BC, Canada, is that a problem? and about the venting that is extra, what hood is that ment to fit with? any? os a particular reverse cowel type?

Shipping to canada is not a problem. Would have to look it up. They ship in two or three boxes, and in the U.S was about $100 or so. The venting would be designed to work with the stock hood once cut to match the square of the ducting.

tv4184 07-07-11 12:04 AM

So if one were to order one of these after you guys finish the first gb, how long would it theoretically take?

So to be efficive youd have to cut the hood? or do you mean cut the venting? lol sorry its late :P

Rawbz08 07-07-11 06:53 AM

Sorry for the mess I've caused Logan. You should post a pic of your hood to give an idea of what is meant.

CKxx 07-08-11 02:29 PM

I may be able to help on this one...

I bought the car in the pics in this thread. I'm pretty sure this is what he is talking about as far as cutting the hood:

https://i254.photobucket.com/albums/...a/DSC01392.jpg

...I know where you can find a hood with a square hole cut in it :) but I'm not sure it would be easy to ship.

hickman 07-08-11 08:41 PM

wow! thats pretty sick! :P but i think i do like the look of the reverse cowl a bit more :P that being said, i dont own my FD yet haha. but just waiting on the bank! :P anyways, back on topic. so if i were to order one of these what is the ETA abouts?

We will have to take at least a 2 week break after these are finished to catch up on the large car projects in the shop. Once another group buy starts I will just say 1-3 months to cover ourselves. This is a extremely busy time of year!

The heat here in ohio is killing us, but we are trucking through. TIG welding is difficult with sweat going in your eyes, and no fan can be used. Otherwise we are trying to get 2-3 kits out this week, and 3 more in the two weeks after. I have a full day of tuning to do on thursday this week and tuesday next week. Otherwise I am on the v-mounts solely. Peter has been finishing up the car projects that need to go out, but starting friday he should be free.

Rawbz08 07-12-11 10:27 PM

Right on. I know the heat has been killer. We go back into the 100s next week. Well keep up the good work. Thanks for the update.
