Dash Vent Dual Gauge Pod

Hey guys

I've always wanted to make this because I think alot of FD owners without A/C would like the position of the gauges. I myself have A/C and wouldn't use it but if other people would like this I will get started on fabrication right away.

I don't have any 3D modeling software so I can't draw it up.

This location allows for gauges of all depths. The area behind the dash vent goes pretty far back without any interference. But basically the pod would be for Two Gauges angled about 15% towards the driver. I could make it for both 52mm and 60mm gauges. Similar to how the TriPower Gauge pod can fit the 52mm but if you bore out the hole it out it would fit 60mm gauges. The bottom of the gauges would be flush with the bottom of the area and the top would stick out a bit because of the angle. It would be made of fiberglass and painted black to match the 93 plastics. However it would be easy for the buyer to change the color or get it wrapped in Carbon Fiber. It would also snap into place just like the dash vent would by transferring the stock clips onto the pod. This would make it easy to pop the pod on and off instead of having to unscrew it like the stock dash vent.

If I have at least 10 people interested within a week I will get started on it. Also, if there are at least 10 people who want a RHD version and at least one person willing to let me borrow a RHD dash vent I can get one of those fabricated as well. I will also get a vendor account so we can run the group buy on here.

The process will go like this. I remove my A/C vent and fabricate the pod it out of fiberglass. Get some pics of the early mockup and post them here. Get ya'lls opinions of the look or materials or any other suggestions and implement them. Finish the mockup. Take final pics and post them. Make a mold and mass produce them.

The price for the pod would most likely be $100.

Let me know if ya'll are interested.

Thanks
Derek

Sounds like a good spot for gauges, however I think your market is limited. Imo most people keep the A/C and go with the center speaker mount gauge pods already on the market.

Yea I am one of those people. I have the TriPower Pod.

I'm not worried about the market. I just think it would be something nice to have fabricated so I can have a mold and make them at will. Just want at least 10 people interested so it's worth the hassle.

But even if people who have A/C. I could also fabricate something to block off the hose that goes to that center vent so air goes out in all the other locations stronger instead.
