Cast FD3S Oil Pans

Now that we have finished and proven our FC3S models we are wrapping up our 3rd gen oil pans. We are 3d printing things and then just adding a few more goodies ( o ring flange groove, fins etc ) before we start 300 units next week

Nice, do you have any for S3 13B engines? For those who dare to use 12A front covers.

I wonder if it will sit too low with IRP mounts. They sit lower than normal, which is what I need. But I took the measurements you gave me months ago and it looks like it will still be too low. I'd really love if it fits though lol.

How much does it raised the engine with stock mounts?

.50” thick flange minus the stock width is a rough guess.

on the site it says 75 days out for the FD model, but not sure when that was posted versus the thread post above. Roughly how far out are we now?

I read that but if you look at the 3D renderings, the areas where the engine mounts are attached are thinner than the rest of the crankcase.

We have our first batch of FD3S units out of casting, and moving onto the CNC phase later this week. Excited to get these out and move onto much larger production!

These are cast aluminum, I am not going to discuss the exact alloy, as I've changed it a now a few times to get around porosity issues.

This looks like a nice piece. Would like to know what the motor mount solution is with this pan if you want to retain the OEM mounts, or if that is impossible. It would seem like too much metal would have to be removed from the arms to maintain proper motor angle.

If you look closely we recessed the area where the motor mounts sit, this area is only 1/4" thick. You can also use the FFE motor mounts to adjust the height to exactly OEM. Both heights will still not sit the pan below the OEM subframe FYI.
These are in the CNC now, and we expect our samples in 10 days or so.

So sick.
Once the samples are in hand, and if there are no further changes needed/wanted, what is the approximate time frame for completing the production of a bulk batch and being able to ship orders?

Around 45 days give or take.

Installing a few sets of samples this week:

I know you mentioned earlier that you were dealing with cast porosity and alloy selection. Is the area circled still an issue?

Still some minor appearance issues working through( normal on samples), not an issue with functionality however. These pans are twice as thick as previous brands that have had issues, basically makes it 10x harder to have a porisity issue straight through for an external leak.

I’m down with getting one…was planning on resealing my very very slow leaking oil pan so timing works out for me.

Interested in this if it can be used with the OEM engine mounts. Would require.25” to be milled off the mount arms, question is would the mount arms have sufficient metal / strength with that much material removed?

If I ordered one now, when would it be expected to ship, roughly?

Only reason asking is I have to do an engine rebuild for an a leaky oil o-ring, and would like to time it so I can do both at the same time.

Thank you.

estimated around 70 days. This is just an estimate, not a guarantee.
