Agreed, we do plan to make a cover for the "guts" of the handle along with modifying/adding something so you can run speakers with these panels as well but I havent gotten around to it yet.

We did look into that but decided against it for multiple reasons. the idea of these panels were to simplify. converting to a miata handle would add more cost, as well as how do you source miata handles since they are so old (couldnt find an other handle styles as well) also the driver side cables are actually longer then the passenger side cables restricting where you can move the handles. so switching to the miata handle (pull in wards) at the stock location wouldnt really make sense. the stock pull back style handles work perfect. To make the miata handles fit and make sense would also required extending/changing the passenger side cables and already its getting more complex for no reason besides adding cost and complexity. At least thats how we saw it. Why replace something if it works!

Looks like if aftermarket seats are in my future these are the only way since seat options are limited with the stock door panel. The only thing I see that is a problem for me is the obvious gaps from the dash to the panel.

Best ideas I have for that is extending the dash to fit flush or maybe if you can possibly make a fiberglass version or something to mate up to the dash, Would be too much work though. Just a thought.

The gaps are really not that noticeable, well at least when i was in my friends car with the panels. But I understand, we initially were going to make a "street" version where the door panels would meet the dash and incorporate a speaker spot but we dont foresee enough interest to develop those. For these door panels it wasnt an issue because they were designed with the "race" mentality simplifying everything

Awesome! got any pictures? We finally just finished making our speaker brackets. These are used for added reinforcement and sit right behind the our door panels so when you mount the speaker it will be fastened through the door panel and bracket

They are screwed on with 3 screws to the door. You will simply need to drill holes to through the door panel and bracket then secure them with self tapping screws. We'll do some testing shortly

I found these fiberglass speaker pods on ebay. Just some mockup pic's. I have to find exactly where to mount them and drill some pilot holes once I get the oem door cards off. Then I'm going to have my body shop spray em sating black.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with some front speakers. Hopefully they'll be room for a variety of speakers!

Question about these panels, is the aluminum able to be powder coated? Or is the material not heavy enough for that? Thanks.

I actually have the camo set on my fd and to be honest, I love them. the fitment is really good, they look great and the strap is very sturdy. There isn't any rattling, and if there is my exhaust keeps me from ever noticing. it doesn't flap at all in the wind at all. Only thing i really had to get used to was not being able to lean on the armrest part.i feel like i have tons more room though.

Any chance you could do the AL ones in black anodized/brushed? That would be a nice option.

I'm not sure what you mean? They do have cut outs for the window switches in the current version..

The race version looks great in carbon. I was thinking though, how do u think they would look wrapped in alacantra? Not saying you should provide that option, but might give it a more luxury race feel to it. Tempted to buy the aluminum ones and wrap them. Actually thinking about it, it would probably be cheaper than the carbon version if u can find a decent bulk deal on alacantra.

We ship the panels in a 24"x36" box with some space to move around. so a sheet 24"x36" will be plenty of material for you to have excess to wrap around the panel. (this is per door panel)

We've had a few customers wrap their aluminum panels in suede which is pretty similar.. it does modernize the feel a bit. We do provide wrapping services for an additional $40 + Material if you would like to go that route or you can simply wrap them yourself. The aluminum panels are perfect for wrapping!

Yes, that would be plenty to wrap, you may even be able to get 3 panels out of that fabric (if you mess up once!)

Yes, our carbon panels are a bit pricey but its because we vacuum infuse them and have them professionally clear coated, Unlike most Manufactures who use "UV Resistant" gelcoats that eventually yellow and fade.

A CF Vinyl is a nice alternative if that is the look youre trying to achieve for less!
I'd recommend 3m's DiNoc over their 1080 CF vinyl.. the 1080 looks rather fake imo, whereas the DiNoc looks much more realistic. just my .02
