AzEKnights Custom Solenoid Rack Interest
After trying to see if Eric still would make one of his custom solenoid racks, he said if we could get 10+ interested people he would start making them again. For info about the racks see this old GB thread from a few years back:
https://www.rx7club.com/group-buy-pr.../#post10780399 So trying to get 10+ people interested so hopefully we can get another run of these. I have asked him about a price estimate, and will update this thread when he replies. Lets hope we can get this going again. Interested: 1. wazway 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. |

Do you know if this would work on the 96-02 black box system?

This should just replace the solenoid black box on the series 8, moving it away from heat.

Good evening all! Thank you all for the interested in purchase my custom solenoid kit.
So trying to get 10+ people interested so hopefully we can get another run of these. I have asked him about a price estimate, and will update this thread when he replies. Lets hope we can get this going again. The solenoid connectors on the series 7/8 are different from. Series 6. Will it still be plug and play? If any of you have any questions, for a prompt response, please email me directly @ ezheng86@gmail.com. I am a full time tech at a dealership and I rarely have time to check the forum nowadays. I apologize if I've responded to any of your PMs very slowly. Thanks for understanding. Cheers, EZ:icon_tup: |

Couple links for pictures and how his setup came to be, literally just typed "azeknights solenoid kit" into google. https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...-rack-1035129/ https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...roject-966011/ Also Eric has told me that it would be around $650-$700+shipping for the kits. |

I'm a bit confused. I was under the impression that the price from the previous group buys was around $550 for the kit? Or did I miss something? |
Hey Spalato,
That $550+shipping price was back when Eric was first doing kits back in '11, when he did his last set in this thread (post # 819) https://www.rx7club.com/group-buy-pr...968956/page33/ The price near the end was about 650~700+ shipping for GB and 787+shipping for normal price. Sorry if there was any confusion on pricing, as there were multiple GB that Eric created for these solenoid kits. |
oh ok, I see. Thanks for clearing that up
|
Thanks. I should have done that originally, I spent a bunch of time going through some of the old GB threads and they had some info and pictures but a lot of it was outdated (pics of the prototypes, etc). Having a ballpark price is helpful too. I allotted my next purchase to be my stereo setup, but depending how far I go (or don't go) on that, I think I could be in for one of these.. darn Jason94R2's glowing review of these in that thread, really makes me want it. :D

Good evening folks!
Just wanted to give a shout out to Wazway for setting this up and getting it rolling. I've emailed my distributor about a new set up which will cost me more for the set up, BUT cut my labor time to almost nothing other than testing and packaging instead of me doing all the assembling work. Therefore, this will certainly cut the price from the previous GB. I hope this will be a great news for all of you. I have yet to hear from him since it was Friday last I've contacted him. Here's the process so far: 1) Contacted Distributor about new set up 2) Distributor will need to have a new solenoid system on hand, complete a sample with my request 3) Quote me the update cost 4) Calculate the turn around time after payment 5) Once determined, I will request you guys to pay me upfront with FULL payment via Paypal. If you guys have any questions in regards to my system, feel free to contact me directly via my email @ ezheng86@gmail.com for quickest response. Once again, thank you all for your interest in my custom solenoid system. I hope this product and my service will put a grin on your face from ear to ear! Cheers, EZ |
Looking forward to the new info! Thanks for the update.
-Vince |
Excited for this! If anyone on this GB would be willing to document their install of this system a bit (take some pictures, etc.), as an FD novice, I would sure appreciate it! I've been getting my hands dirty more and more on this car, but still need some direction on these things so as not to blow it up haha!

Update:
Just got an update email with my distributor. He's finally got all the solenoid valves and fittings. So he will put together a system with my specs and wires pre-made. Once I get a sample of the unit, I will update again with it's function once tested. -Eric |

Any idea on the time frame and pricing? I am finishing my build and have a dyno session set for the beginning of May.

At this moment, I am expecting the price to be below $700 at this point with 10+ committed buyers. Since my distributor just got all the parts he needed to put together my needs for this GB. We'll have to test it out to make sure it works. However, I do want to get it tested and be done within 2 weeks time frame. After that, then we can really get a GB going.

awaiting results...!

really looking forward to this as well.
@Azeknightz I'm sure the documentation supplied with the unit is sufficient for installation but is there anything I should be getting/preparing in the mean time? I understand you probably don't want to give out the instructions before we purchase. I've been searching around and I've only seen Before/After pictures of the installation (with the rack located near the ABS) but I haven't seen walkthroughs or at least a parts list for installation in addition to the rack itself. I've been pausing the Regular Car reviews of the FD on YouTube to check out his set up (i think he might have the rack or something similar). So questions would be: What additional hardware is needed to mount? What size hoses and length? |

So questions would be: What additional hardware is needed to mount? What size hoses and length? I recommend 25' of 3.5mm silicone vacuum hoses and 5' of 6mm vacuum hoses to finish this job. However IF you do decide to remove all rat nest and perform a complete vacuum hose job, I'd recommend at least 32' of 3.5mm vacuum hoses. I also highly recommend bringing the supplied vacuum hose diagram to your local xerox store like Kinko's and make it a poster size to make this job easier. Hardware needed: 2-4 screws for tapping into the location near the ABS.:icon_tup: |
Awesome News! Just got the solenoids from my distributor and got it tested. They came out looking great!
I am currently communicating with my distributor to have a minor modification to the harness. As for the prices, it will be determined after I get the complete parts and labor from my distributor. Again, it will be no more than $700 for 10-20 buyers, and less if we get 20+ buyers. (shipping and paypal fees are not included) -Eric |

Ive got everything taken cared of. However I am extremely busy at work for the moment, therefore I will try my best to send a PM to everyone that's interested with cost and instructions. Once I get approval for the GB approval that is, then we can get this going!
