Arrowhead lighting LED tails

First this is not a GB I will not discuss pricing or selling of these lights. If and only if I can manufacture these at a decent rate I may open a group buy. As of right now it is just a development thread where I am throwing my ideas out there and prototyping.

The subject of Led tails have been popping up so I am sharing my idea with you guys. This is what I came up with a couple years ago but many people don't look at the interior/exterior section so I didn't get much input.

This is just a photoshop not the real thing. It uses Lumiled Superflux lined up and set back from th lens to provide a blended look between the leds.

Love the look, make them. I like the thicker versus thinner variety.

^Agreed. I like the thicker line and I would definitely rock these if you made them.

I'll be in for a set... Prefer thicker lines as well and replace amber with red

This is where I am still debating on. In order to use amber for the turns the lens will have to be clear. So I can either make the whole lens clear which will make the tails look aftermarket or stick with red lenses and use red as signal lights and keep everything stock looking.

This is what I was thinking for signals. Just have the same outline to keep it simple or I can put >>>> and make them sequential.

The sequential look is cool. The other option though would probably look more OEM.

I dont want to be a buzz kill but just a heads up, a glow shop already makes these and I believe they are working with Mayday Garage as a US distributor.

In no way am I discouraging you, just pointing it out in case you want to take it into account if you do decide to do a group buy. Interested to see the out come out! (IIRC you also made hid projector headlights too, which looked great!)

Yes. Do this!

Any chance you could do something like this in the middle?
Maybe these would be the signals?

yo these are made by qest japan QestJapan LEDテール・ランプ加工の株式会社クエストジャパン・FD3SRX-7・LEDテールランプ・QJ−F303
they have a youtube video you can watch and plenty of photos

price ranges from $680-750 if you bring them your lights before/send them your old ones after. the shipping for this to U.S. wouldnt really be an option so they are $1300 without a trade. plus shipping to the U.S. if anyone is really dying for a set and willing to pay the shipping I can get you a set. but producing a new set for U.S. buyers is really a better option if you can get this price to the $700+core range.

I finally got caught up enough with retrofits I have time to start working on these. I already ran into a problem where the stock taillight lens diffuser material is basically impossible to find so I had to scratch that idea. So I went to home depot to pick up those lighting panels that go over fluorescent lights and here are the results. I am not impressed so there goes that idea lol.

The left side is what we are looking at the right is just a cob ring I stuck under there to see what it looks like.

So now I am going to order some red acrylic not my first choice but it seems like it is the only option right now besides light pipes.
