One slight design element you may want to alter would be to not drill all the holes. The brake and clutch pedal are drilled on the periphery but are solid in the center. My guess would be because that's where they're welded to the arms for the pedals.

Consistency is key to the "stock" look.

Or perhaps given your fabrication capabilities consider offering a full replacement pedal set that includes the dead pedal, clutch pedal, brake pedal and gas pedal. Then they will all look consistent at least.

I'm pretty happy with what you have done so far though but just an idea.

BC Getting out Right

For RHD the smaller gas pedal may be better, as we have to get our left feet by the pedals as we clamber out to the right.

Not sure. For driving I have always found the gas pedal is a little too far away from the brake pedal for a comfortable heel/toe downshift. When I do it in my RHD I have to really angle my heel out to the right to blip the gas.

Adding myself to the list. Just looked through the thread again and now my pants are tight. Nothing I love more than OEM-look upgrades! This is a straight-upgrade, or even a fix to something that makes you go, "Why didn't they do it that way in the first place??"

I do agree with others though--once you figure out where the pedal is going to be welded to the bar, it would be best to leave those holes that cover the lever undrilled to match the look of the other two pedals. Also, the dead pedal would definitely look best with the lip around the edge.

As far as the clutch and brake pedal go, hopefully we'll all find that those are unnecessary because you've done such a stellar job matching the original look.

I agree! Very important that it looks OEM and so far it really looks like it was forged in Hiroshima!

The dead pedal lip, and un-drilled holes over the arms would really top it off.

My only other request is that you make these once and only once, so that we can all be cool and no one else can squad.

Thanks for the feedback guys! So is everyone in agreement that there should be a lip on the dead pedal? I will model one up and make a prototype so everyone can see it installed and we will make the final decision! As for the un-drilled holes over the lever, that is also no problem! In my 3d model I believe I have the placement dialed in so I can see which holes are in front of the lever and delete them.

I want to experiment with some different blasting media and see if I can get closer to the OEM finish. They are close but not as rough as the OEM, I'm thinking some very coarse sand or bead blast might top it off! The goal is definitely to get them to match close enough that we don't have to re-create the clutch and break pedal

Thank you for being so willing to iterate on the design. The more pictures you post of it, the more we're realizing how close-to-OEM they are and the more we're pushing you to make it PERFECT lol.

If you post a close-up of the stock pedals and your pedals so we can see the finish, you can imagine the additional input you'd receive. XD

Oh and "www.streetsins.com" doesn't resolve to anything anymore--did you close your website?

Very nice to hear! I agree and believe that the two OEM pedals should be kept and the new matched! The OEM clutch/brake had no fault and we should not touch them.

No price is set, because this is not official yet. Also, I think Sideo is still evaluating manufacturing costs.

For the sake of matching the OEM pedals as closely as possible, perhaps a small alteration to the various corners & bends? The OEM pedals are rounded off more, closely following the same curvature as the circles.

very good point. Im amazed at how much different my first prototype is from the current one and yet again I totally missed this. You are correct, the clutch and break have a much wider radius, I based this profile off of the gas pedal but I think even compared to the gas pedal my design has too tight of a radius. In the next few days I will have a dead pedal with the surrounding lip on it and new gas pedals with a larger corner radius and I will also remove the holes on top of the gas pedal lever

This place is so brutal on details. Go check the "museum-quality" FS thread, if you don't believe me.
Huge props for bearing with us, and being responsive to design details.

"Hard to argue with" is a design ethos I've been wresting with with, and a product that replicates the stock design so well is really hard to argue with.
I'm sure some people would love to see some flare, but imagine doubling your iteration and feedback cycles on this for half the audience.
I think you're hitting the widest market with the best solution.

Looks like they're gonna move. Excited to get a set of these in my sweaty hands.

Thank you! These are coming along great. I'm glad you're so open to feedback, especially on little changes like this that many may not notice.
