Yes sir, that is exactly why I must know which hood you have because the kit was designed on an FC with a steel Turbo hood and I need to order heavy duty shocks for it. I am no expert on one generation of these cars, but I have looked into it so that I will not sell a kit that can't even hold the hood up. So I made the kit and tested it on 2 cars, one with the aluminum hood and one with the steel hood.

I will update my website to just say steel hood in general, thank you for letting me know I was only aware of the turbo steel hood and not the N/A version of it. I know you just want to make sure that us vendors are making stuff correctly for these cars.

Thanks, Ben

and wasn't trying to bash them, we just know FC owners are cheap since the resale value of the cars is in the toilet. i made a set for my car with steel brackets that i cut and rewelded at a different angle from some rear hatch struts from a different make of car. i just figured the brackets was where the majority of the cost was coming from.

I would agree with you on most FC owners are cheap, but as I vendor I can tell you that the FC is making a huge come back and the value has stopped dropping.

The turbo cars from what I have seen are actual fetching more then a few years ago.

The FC is a very very capable car and is overall cheaper to modify then the FD and is cheaper to maintain because there are **** loads of them compared to the FD.

The cnc brackets are the most costly item in the kit, but the other parts are not cheap either. And yes I need to make money on them...lol. Its not personal just business.

Well what ever the hoods are as far as numbers, I only need to know if you have a steel or aluminum one. The CF hood uses the same shocks as the aluminum hood.

Ben

It's all good. I use the same stuff for FD's and FC's so I do not understand why some people think FC stuff should be cheaper.

They work with all hoods because these bolt on the back side of the hood hinge. There would only be a clearence issue if vis made your hood different on the outside edges but they copy the stock hood anyways.

If you want them, order them I'll give you the same price.

PS Ben, your website still has the paypal checkout price bug of $3248565738956 or something. Should fix it for people not on the forum.

LOL yeah I did find the problem in my code. There was that extra link on the original test button and thats why all my buttons have it. I already fixed all the FD links, now I need to fix the FC and RX8 links. Just remember to refreash your page and delete your cookies. It works for safari, firefox and google chrome now.

I'll fix the FC and RX8 links tonight.

Got my set today, just in time for the new year. I haven't installed them yet, but i'll post back and take some more pics of them on. These are a nice set of dampers, feels almost OE compared to the trunk dampers i have on my vert. A+ nice job Ben

Thanks, Man.

OK so heres the dealio.

Time to admit something here. I have already pmd all 3 your guys and sent the missing bolts out to you.

Please take a look at my site and the other pictures for the FC hood dampers on this thread.

The ball end bolt on the cnc bracket stays there, it is also thread locked in.

The other two ball end threaded bolts will replace the bolts in your fender. It will be the bolt half way down the fender, you can also see it in the pictures.

The normal hex top bolt is the one that will replace the bolts in your hood and that will bolt the cnc bracket onto the normal hood hinge. As you can see there should be 4 of those, there are only 2 of those that I shipped. I just sent 4 new ones to each of you guys, so please use the new set of bolts.

Also the "RE" should be closer to the winshield. The bolck part goes towards tohe front of the car and is designed to clear that rubber bushing that is on the fender at the end of the weather stripping on your cowl panel.

Just make sure that are installed right, the hood will not close if they are installed wrong.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!

Ben
