FC rear camber link rod

For those of you that have lowered the rear of the car via lowering springs or coilovers and need to correct the negative camber in the rear of the car i have started modifying the original camber links to be adjustable.

This is the center camber link that adjusts the rear subframe for equal camber adjustment at both wheels for a more affordable price. I will require you to send me a good core with the purchase or simply pay the core charge.

Group buy pricing is $40 plus $7 shipping within the US, PM me for estimates outside the US. (regularly priced $50)

core charge is $10 which will be returned after a core in good condition is recieved(bushings must be intact and not torn, they usually are in good condition).

This camber link does require adjustments to be made while disconnected from the rear subframe, i will be making one that you can adjust without the need to disconnect it from the subframe for a cost of $48 fairly soon, as i need to find a left hand die and bulk LH threading.

This group buy will end when i run out of cores, which really depends on how many people do not provide cores during purchase.

Send payment of $57 to: ktm0012@sbcglobal.net and be sure your shipping information is correct prior to purchase and let me know your forum name. i will send out the link and refund the core of $10 after the core is recieved(i will send you shipping information after purchase).

-Ben

Great idea!
If only this had started a month ago before I bought that other one. This is so affordable u can but it AND the individual adjusters! There is now no excuse for retarded camber.

Thanks!

i priced it cheaper than the chinese ones off ebay so you won't find anything cheaper than this, also probably less problematic than the cheap pillow ***** i'm sure they use to make theirs with since this is bacially an OEM part that i have never seen fail on any FC's yet to date.

if anyone wants me to modify their own just PM me and i will send you the shipping information so you will have your original modified part back.

+1, I'm all over this. IN RED! Or just don't paint it and let me do it because it will get new bushings at time of install. But whatever lol, primer is cool.

If you want I can send you a core now?

i don't believe you can order the bushings for the link rod from mazda, they sell the link as a complete unit. you can however have some bushings made with delrin or polyurethane at a machine shop but in my opinion, unless the bushings are very worn and cracked, that is a waste of time and money unless you are redoing every suspension part for maximum performance. i could modify them with pillow ***** but at that point i may as well make the links from scratch and completely new which will be at or higher than the ebay ones cost. i'll look into it though.

give me up to a few weeks to try and find the correct left hand tap and threading materials, i have a few cars i am working on so i can't spend much time at the moment developing the push/pull link just this moment.

anyone else who's interested let me know which you are interested in, the on car adjusting rod or the original listed type so i can figure out the interest for each type.

I'm going to go Polyurethane master kit from work so I'm assuming it will have those in there. But yea to be clear I'm interested in the ON car adjustment.

I want one - the on-car adjust version.

Thanks,

supplier called and apparently 9/16-18 left hand threading materials are nonexistent. i'm going to see if there is a metric equivalent available for left hand threading or dies to make my own 9/16-18 left hand thread stock.

meaning it will take longer to accomplish, why can't anything be easy...

Not 9/16-18... but everything else close to it. In left hand:

How much adjustability does it have? I need to reduce my camber by alot and this would be a great option. Let me know thanks!

already searched and searched all the major suppliers including mcmaster carr. problem is i'm threading the stock diameter rod inside which has a limited range of size threads that can fit it and 9/16" is a perfect size(and there is nothing in the 9/16" range available at all for some reason), anything else is too large or too small. i'm looking into something different though.

an alternative though is the coupling nuts found 4 section down this page:
http://www.mcmaster.com/#hex-coupling-nuts/=anhox2

which is doable but i'll see if i can still make a profit at the original quoted cost since the original plan didn't work out as expected. materials alone will be in the neighborhood of $25-30 for each link since the jam nuts are a rediculous price at $6 each.. also not fond of the 13TPI which is typical in the 1/2" thread ranges, making the adjustments rather coarse.

i'll toss one on my car and give a before and after comparison for you to see, i have HKS HyperD coilovers on my car lowered about 2.5" with a nasty camber problem so you can see how much of a difference they will make. will have to be after my trip this weekend though, will be a busy week so i won't have time until then. i've been brushing it off because my car needs the fenders rolled since the 275's barely shoehorn into the wheel wells without the wheels cambered in, it's something i definitely need to do though because traction is becoming an issue even in the 60+MPH range in a straight line and i haven't even really started pushing the new turbo yet...

since i'm really only making the links to correct for negative camber(lowering the car) they will have plenty of adjustment range.

I figured.

I'd certainly be willing to pay more to make it worth your while. My alternative is having a local machinist do the work for me on my stock rod, but for a one-off he wants more than you're asking.

Let me know how it progresses. I still have another couple months before racing season starts up again but I like to be prepared

i'm looking at a different angle and welding some thicker tube that can be threaded with 1/2"-20 thread stock which will keep it around the original price estimate.

Just curious since I haven't heard anything concrete, this style of camber adjuster will not work with solid subframe mounts, correct?

i have no experience with solid subframe mounts but the way the subframe torsion affects the camber i would have to say no, unless the mounts themselves are adjustable somehow with shims.
