For the sake of clarification, to my knowledge you will also need the tII front hub assembly, correct?

As well, do you have any pictures of the current kit? Hardware included?

Quite interested, will let you know ASAP.

Very cool that you've stepped up to make these! :)

A few quick notes to make everyones lives a bit easier. The 5 lug hub came on all S5's (89-91), 88 covnertable, and 86-88 GXL, basically anything that's not an S4 base model.

The 4 piston "turbo" calipers also came on a bunch of models, including the GXL, and convertable, and the front rotors are actually the same on all non S4 base model cars.

I just wanted to point that out so everyone isn't going nuts searching for the parts *only* from turboII's, and also to avoid some confusion if buying from RockAuto etc.

Thanks for clearing this up. This is a common question I've been getting and I don't have all the answers.

As far as pictures, the parts will look like "the other" kit that is common. I don't have pictures yet and don't want to post pictures that are not my kit. Once I have the parts in my hand I'll post pictures.

I want to place the order tomorrow. I know this is short notice but with a 4 week lead time, I don't want people to wait longer then necessary.

mustanghammer 05-29-14 11:17 AM

Note that you can retain the 4x114.3 pattern by using S4 4 lug hubs and redrilling the Turbo II 5 lug rotors so that they have a 4 lug pattern. This way you can use stock GSL/SE axles.

I did this on my STU race car so I could use 4 lug 15" wheels that have more advatageous offsets. I used a RE Speed kit I bought from Billy.

https://www.rx7club.com/build-thread...-992966/page4/

I can provide how-to photos regarding the rotor redrill - it is easy if you have drill press.

sleeping-7 05-29-14 11:49 PM

^^^ That's exactly a what I'm doing. Can't wait to get this kit! My front calipers are shot and I have freshly rebuild sport brakes just sitting here from my FC waiting to go on.

PM'ed you KansasCityREPU!

No problem, I don't have production numbers to back it up, but I'd be willing to bet there were more FC's with the big brakes than not.

Mustanghammer makes a good point, the 4 lug hubs will also work with this kit, and with some simple modding can still use the 4 piston calipers/bigger rotor. Makes it more budget friendly if someone already has a nice set of 4 lug wheels they want to keep.

One more thing I'll leave here, on my more recent build I went with base model FC brakes up front, and was very surprised how big they actually are when compared to the stock FB brakes. Those combined with SE rear brakes is a really good budget and street friendly setup. Just another option for you guys :)

Awaiting my order :)

Tuner321 06-03-14 08:51 AM

Can't wait man, thanks for doing this

KansasCityREPU 06-03-14 02:20 PM

This is the list of people that have placed deposits. I still have time to get orders in the next couple of day. Once these go into production I will need 10 complete (front and back) orders to do this again. We barley made it this time so next time would be even harder. I want to thank everyone that placed orders. Without the support of this group, this type of upgrade would not be possible.

1. Kameron13 (full kit + 2 spindle spacers)
2. roarinrotaryrx7 (full kit)
3. AXA (full kit)
4. ROTRY PWR (full kit)
5. sleeping-7 (full kit)

6. myfree7 (front kit)
7. Carl (front kit)
8. Tuner321 (front kit)
9. Team-Musashi (front kit)
10. HorrorBeaver (front kit)
11. aviedy1 (front kit)

12. echo412 (2 spindle spacers only)

sleeping-7 06-04-14 12:57 AM

Just the front kit for me.

myfree7 06-04-14 11:35 AM

Quick question... Am I going to need hub spacers?

KansasCityREPU 06-04-14 01:19 PM

If you mean the spacer on the hub that allows the second gen rotor to fit the answer is no. They come in the kit.

In hub spacers you mean spacers for the wheels to push them out further? From what I've read, some people need them depending on the wheel you run.

myfree7 06-04-14 01:55 PM

Cool! I'm fine then thanks

KansasCityREPU 06-10-14 08:24 AM

Just spoke with my machine shop and we have till Thursday to take orders. I've had a few people add to their order and a few more new people added. I want to make sure that anyone that want a kit get one.

tacoboy1503 06-12-14 12:22 AM

pmd to for depoist

myfree7 06-19-14 09:45 PM

How much longer until full payment is needed?

KansasCityREPU 06-20-14 01:22 PM

We had a few stragglers wanting kits so I wont have the kits until July 11th. If it's ok with everyone, I'd rather wait till I have the parts in my hand until I take full payment. If anyone wants to pay now that's ok but I don't need to payments right now. My PayPal username has changed so if anyone wants to pay please PM me first.

echo412 06-23-14 10:46 PM

Brake lines

Ok, while KansasCityREPU is busy getting our BBKs built, I want to start talking a about the brake lines. I know the other company that built the kits used to also sale steel braded lines for them as well. I don't think stock rubber lines would work with big brake calipers as they will too short. Plus who want old rubber line? Not me.
So, please share your plans for brake lines if you've already figured out what you are going to do. Thanks

myfree7 06-24-14 05:17 AM

I actually went to the junkyard yesterday and picked up the front calipers off a GXL, only paid $23.50. I'm probably going to do what they did on the FC and run a short hart line and mount it to the rear of the strut tube. Then a braided line from there. If that doesn't work there are places to have braided lines custom made.

myfree7 06-24-14 06:00 AM

So to clarify. I will need to get the FC front hubs? I'm also assuming I will need the FC bearings as well? Or can I use the se bearings? Just wondering so I can go ahead an start gathering new parts....

Yes you need the hubs and inner bearing from the fc platform ... you will use your fb outer bearing ...

myfree7 06-24-14 08:08 PM

Cool thanks!!! Just want to make sure I get the right parts the first time.

myfree7 07-08-14 10:11 PM

It's getting close!..... Can't wait to get this kit finally.

KansasCityREPU 07-09-14 09:18 AM

Just got off the phone with the machine shop. I'll be getting part of the order next week. I'll take some picture and post them when I get my hands on them.

I want to thank everyone for be patient. I know my machine shop is not the fastest but I promise I'll deliver. This is to important for everyone.

myfree7 07-09-14 10:41 AM

No problem man! Without your doing we wouldn't be getting these so thank you!!!!

atheadwins 07-16-14 01:15 PM

I recognize I am too late to get in the first run, however, I am interested in a full kit when the time comes for the next batch. I will keep $425 saved to be ready whenever this happens. Thank you so much to KansasCityREPU for taking the time to do this and I look forward to another round!

KansasCityREPU 07-16-14 02:51 PM

Called the machine shop guy today. They are running the parts and will be doing the welding this weekend and powder coating next week.

KansasCityREPU 07-24-14 03:57 PM

Got a picture of the first parts off the line. These are the rear caliper brackets. These are in red because they are for testing and fitment. All the production parts will be in black.

I tried to nail the machine shop down on when I would have all the parts but I'm just a little guy as far as they are concerned. I'm hoping for next week.

Can I still get in or do I need to wait til the next go around?

I ordered a couple of extra kits. Once I get everyone taken care of, if I have any left I can let you know. Your number two on my wait list. If I have enough interest in a second run I'll let you know. I barley had enough for the first run. I would need at least 8 complete kit orders (front and back) to make a second run. This is because the machine shop needs to make enough parts to cover cost.

doogy2 08-06-14 08:21 AM

Hey I just need the rear caliper bracket is this still possible

KansasCityREPU 08-06-14 11:06 AM

I spoke with the machine shop today. They are saying the front should be done next Friday 8/15 and the rear 8/22.

On a side note, how many people would be interested in a strut tower brace? Next time I'm at the machine shop I'll be dropping mine off to have measured drawings made up.

I don't believe i will need my rear brackets. I ordered a rear kit for the e-brake pieces ... I am buying a granny 8.8 rear which I believe will come with t2 brackets. I haven't gotten it yet, I'll verify once i get it and If so, you can have my rear brackets.

Kameron13 08-06-14 11:15 AM

Sounds good, I am in no hurry. :)

While you are fabbing things up, how about an R&P kit for the FB. I was hoping for the Respeed kit, but we all know how that went.

I wish I could do a R&P. I had a brand new one and sold it before I could have the machine shop make the drawings.

If anyone has a RE-Speed R&P and wants to send it to me I'll make it worth your while.

Kameron13 08-06-14 01:01 PM

I'll keep my fingers crossed that some generous FB owner out there is willing and able to have his R&P kit cloned. :)

estevan62274 08-06-14 01:09 PM

+1!

Diver22 08-06-14 04:33 PM

We'll let me know if you have any extras, I need the fronts for sure, I can go either way on the rears.

myfree7 08-06-14 05:46 PM

Id do a strut tower brace.

doogy2 08-06-14 08:26 PM

Thanks echo let me know for the rack kit I'm going to work on one very soon. As soon as I get some free time but it's going were the curent steering shaft are

doogy2 08-06-14 08:27 PM

For the brace I would need just the parts that get joined to the struts cuse I would have to do some modifying to it to clear intercooler pipes

echo412 08-13-14 11:18 AM

Eric, any ETA from the machine shop? thanks

They are saying the front should be done this Friday 8/15 and the rear 8/22. I'm going to call them tomorrow to help push them along.

Sorry it's taking so long. I've been scared at trying to push them to much. Their a pretty big shop here and they could have told me to hit the bricks. If I do another run I might front the funds myself and worry about getting paid when I sell them.
