Sterling issues that went away, he is still the Man...

So I sent in my Nikki carb off of my '83 RX7 to Sterlingmetalworks back in April. I paid him in installments and it got all paid off by the end of July. I still have yet to have any news on my carburetor and he isn't even responding to my emails.
Has anyone ever had any similar issue with Dennis Williams AKA Sterling? Because this is concerning me that I just possibly lost around $400 and a carburetor.

I think its actually Carl Perez who does the work. At least, he did mine for Sterlingworks. His email is/was:
carl@pbandjracing.com
Is there a phone number on their site? Worth dropping a dime to hear a voice.
These guys are usually good at follow up to inquiries, tho I confess I never got reply to my last couple of emails to Carl either....

Carl? you out there?

Let us know how this goes!

Did you ever get the carb back?

I planned on giving them a call but wanted to know whether the masses have had similar issues to mine before I did. I'll look for a number.

Thanks for the advice.

Stu, Carl hasn't done Sterling Nikki work for years, and he hasn't emailed me in at least 12 months. But I awoke to a email from Evan to him forwarded to me.
I have indeed been dialogging back and forth with Evan, and sent him an update as recently as 9/2, so I'm unclear just what the problem is.
I'll certainly be calling him today to clear this up, though.

EVERYTHING IS GOOD!
Sterling called me this morning and we got things cleared up. Oddly, my gmail account must not be functioning correctly because I haven't been receiving his responses, but the promptness of his phone call today leads me to believe that he has been trying to stay in contact and somehow the emails are being lost in the mix.

Up until this mix-up, I have had nothing but good service and feelings for Sterling. Now that this confusion is cleared up, I feel the same way.
Sterling has been a great guy to deal with.

Thanks, Evan. Unfortunately I think the email problem is at my end, which accounts for another recent situation where someone stated I never returned their email.
I've been having serious computer issues with a virus that's basically ruined the OS (XP). Because it's been a battle just using the stupid thing each time, I had not noticed that the date had changed on it (because my cmos battery went bad, nothing to do with, but completely coincidental to getting the virus).

And because the date was changed, it was sent to my spam folder and not my inbox. Which is why I didn't see it.

threads like these need to be posted in the good guy/bad guy forums or left to pm's. Sterling is a stand up guy that offers an excellent product and correct advice when asked questions. he is a senior member here and a well respected one. i understand your concern but please remember that this is a techinical forum and should be regarded as such. glad it worked out in the end though.

My bad. I was unaware that there was a good guy/bad guy forum being new to this forum and the RX7 world.

Sterling does good work.
Takes a while, but then again, you can't rush good work.
He is a stand up guy and will communicate with you promptly.

Moving this to the proper section.

Glad to see everything got resolved.
