Well, it's been a while and this thread has been a long time coming. Life has a way of creeping up on you and kicking you in the ***** so I apologize to speed1 for not posting up earlier.

I got my cars back from speed1 this year and the experience has been pretty damn great. I've always heard of speed1 but never really thought to go because I didn't know much about who worked their besides Dave. I got to visit during a dyno event and had a great time. Dave is one cool dude. When Brian decided to work at the shop for a bit, I decided it was time to stop by and give them some work. I've always had the greatest respect for Brian and always wanted to see what he can do with my car. Also, when Brian vouches for someone, you take it seriously. The first car I sent to speed1 was my rotary car going for an LS2 conversion. Speed1 does v8 swaps all the time and they knew the ins and outs very well. I did some research on it but Dave immediately knew what stuff I was missing and about all the small stuff that really concerned me about the swap. I had to send my car over. I'm not gonna lie. The car was there for a long time (what's new am I right fellas?!). Communication was great since they hired Wil at the front and I never once felt like I was being ignored or treated badly. When I finally got my car back, everything was solid and running incredibly well. During the build, I added some last minute stuff and they handled it like champs. I know nothing about v8s but from what people have told me about my swap, I'm told that it was really well done. Now I've known Brian for a long time and I've always wanted him to do some work on my car so this seemed like a perfect opportunity to get him to work on my rotary car...

At this point in time, I wanted more power out of my car. I bought the BNRs twice. Sold them twice. While twin BNRs seemed really appealing to me, the cost to go single didn't seem like it would be much more so I decided to go all in. BW s362 fmw, here I come. I also decided I wanted some porting done. I wanted things done quick so instead of porting the motor I have now, I decided to sell it and buy a ported one. I made a bunch of inquiries and ended up between two places. Defined had a really cool hbp and Gorilla Racing had a motor that was built a while back from Chris and Ari at rotary performance. Both Logan and Jonathan were as nice as can be and answered all my questions. Eventually I went with the rotary performance motor that Jonathan was selling. The motor was shipped to speed1. Slightly dinged in shipping at oil pan but that was the only incident. Things were looking really good. Much time passed but eventually the work was done and everything came out great, but not perfect. Some minor miscommunications arose and I didn't get back everything I expected although everything ran extremely well. Fortunately for me, Speed1 is great on the service side and everything was pretty much fixed. Dave and Wil did a great job going the extra mile to make me happy and it's really appreciated. I'd say, throughout all of this, the only bad thing I experienced was the parts that I had in the car came back to me with a bit rougher than I would have liked and I noticed a nick in one of my headlight covers. Other then that and the usual long wait for a rotary shop, I'm really happy. It's nice to know that I have two shops that I feel safe taking my car to.

Thank you everyone at Speed1 and a special thanks to Brian. Thank you Gorilla Racing, Defined Autoworks and IRP for the help as well. A big thank you to the locals that helped out as well.
