Thumbs up rotaryresurrection - great rebuild experience!

My coolant seal finally gave out at 82k on my FD, so I decided to go with rotaryresurrection for a rebuild. Dropped the car off on August 16th, and just picked it up this past Saturday Sept. 6th so it was completed pretty quickly - faster than I would've expected to r&r an engine out of the car.

Throughout the rebuild process Kevin maintained good communication with me about the conditions of the parts, and provided pictures to show the breakdown and the rebuild. Naturally there were a few other things that weren't up to par on the engine, but rather than delaying the job to wait for me to order them, he had more than enough spare parts on hand to complete a quality job (of course, checking with me first to make sure I was ok with what he was doing).

Since I'm in MI, I decided to fly in to pick up the car and to make the drive back, and Kevin was nice enough to pick me up at the Knoxville airport, which is an hour away from his place. Not only that, he also trailered my car to the airport, so I could leave directly from Knoxville! That's awesome customer service!

So far I've logged about 650 miles on the new engine, and I couldn't be more pleased. At first, there was a slight vibration under 2k rpm from the noltec motor mounts that Kevin put in for me, but as far as I can tell it's completely gone now. According to Kevin, the rebuilt engine pulled 17 inches hg vacuum immediately after the rebuild, and after my drive home to michigan it's already pulling 20-21 inches hg vacuum at idle - just like it did when I first got the car back in 2001.

This was my first rebuild, and hopefully the last one I'll need Kevin helped to make it as painless an experience as possible, both with the customer service and in the wallet.

Thanks Kevin!
-Michael

Yep He's picked me up from the knoxville airport twice, I had a total of 3 (3 different cars) rebuilds from him. Great guy, if I still had a rotary I'd still be taking it to him even if I could do it myself simply because I like the way he handles his business.

Grats

Good to hear Kevin is still doing the same top quality work that he did for me 2 years ago. Knowing that RR is in business makes the thought of a blown engine down the road, a little less painful!
