Japan2LA

I purchased a motor from Japan2LA recently. Communication before and after the sale was perfect- every PM was answered promptly.

I gave Japan2LA a narrow window of time during which I wanted to have the motor delivered, as I was in a hurry to make some events, and explained that I needed the motor shipped on a specific date. Japan2LA gave me a ship date, and shipped the motor on that day exactly. He sent me a tracking number that day and the freight company was moving the freight from that point.

Pickup was easy, I had a good experience with the freight company. I went out to their terminal and they loaded the piece for me.

The motor was packaged extremely well. It was loaded on a pallet, then packed in a thick cardboard box, then covered in plastic so the box kept it's shape and didn't get soaked in water.

The motor itself was in surprisingly good shape. I expected an imported used motor with some rusty accessories and missing parts, but got a very complete and clean motor. The wiring harness was pliable and completely in tact, and the motor literally looked nearly new. Every nut and bolt was in place and looked as though it'd never been removed. The clutch disc had next to no wear, the turbo was perfect, so on and so forth. Literally every component on the motor was in the best shape possible. I've never seen a better condition 13b sold as an "imported" engine.

The only thing missing from the motorset was a wastegate actuator, which was obviously removed from the turbo recently. This didn't bug me at all as I was replacing a turbo engine, and used my old actuator. This was literally the only missing part on the entire motorset.

I stripped the motor to get rid of the AC, air pump, and emissions stuff, and installed it. The motor started first try. It's got a perfect idle and pulls about 19 in of vacuum at 800 RPM, so it seems very healthy to me. I haven't gotten a chance to compression test it but judging from what I've seen the motor seems to be in great shape.

I paid a premium to buy from Japan2LA and am extremely happy I did so. His service was perfect, and the part delivered was also perfect.
